As a footnote, I don't remember Jean Carnahan challenging her election, and it was very close.

She was illegally elected by Missouri state law and John Ashcroft did not challenge!

That's because after he thought Dubya would win, he knew he would be put in charge of the secret police. ;)

Carnahan wasn't elected. She was appointed by the Governor to a 2 year term since the winner was no longer with us.

:D

haha, seriously. you'd think people would at least check the spelling of their titles.

It's fully fledged partisans, like you, who lack the mental acumen to see in something other than black and white that's the problem. If you really think that all Democrats behave in a certain way, and all Republicans behave in the exact opposite, but correct way all of the time, you're as blinded by ignorance as Jerry Faldwell.

Yeah, you would think, huh??

BTW, she WAS appointed, but we see how she did in her two years, or, more importantly, how the voters of Missouri thought she did.

Yes, but this was open to a court challenge for various factors. Strict readings of Missouri law prevents what the governor did. Regardless, NO COURT CHALLENGE!

But do you have to justify your vote to have it count?

Thanks for picking that up. I sure am tired.

She got almost half of the votes. Doesn't seem like a mandate.

wrong, f'tard. before the election it was stated by the beloved Gov. of Missouri that the useless housewife would be appointed. She was elected. and then dismissed when it was realized she was more qualified to run the Betty Crocker School of Dipshitedness. gee, do you think that the Dems had their "love-in" with Wellstone because the people in MO let the pie-baker in? and your whole secret police theory? great. good one. don't let the facts get in the way. standard reply. when you're wrong, try to cloud it. seems to have worked on Election Tuesday. why not try it again?

That doesn't change what I said at all, f'tard.

Notice the ;) to the side of the secret police comment? Didn't think so.

Um, 2 years ago, so did Ashcroft, and MRS. Carnahan didn't get ONE VOTE, yet we see who got to serve for the last 2 years.

maybe they left the polls open for another couple of hours and gave the homeless cigarettes to vote for her like they did in 2000. maybe 6 different election laws were broken again. she still lost. that's a mandate. unless you're a Democrat.

'Dawg, i'd get in a battle of wits with you, but a wise man once told me never to fight an unarmed man. so you get a pass. and yes, it does change what you said, by definition. but literacy doesn't seem to be your strong point.

Why are you complaining about this? You're a Republican, you're supposed to be a good loser.

When almost half of the people vote for someone else, it's not a mandate.

Somehow those two things just don't go together.
