As the title states. I have been looking for this monitor to go on sale for some time and the $100 off is about the best I have seen. I looked for stackable coupons without luck--if anyone has more infor on that it could make this a really hot deal.

Its needs to be below $400.

Anyway looks like its a new model. It has a HC suffix, what the significance?
Also what is picture By Picture?

HC means it's a revised model for the original which includes a number of fixes people were complaining about.

it's not "a revised model for the original which includes a number of fixes people were complaining about." it's a high end model that can reproduce 92% of the ntsc color gamut. most lcd monitors reproduce more in the neighborhood of 75% of the color gamut. this model is aimed at graphics and video professionals.

I also have been watching this LCD and the price was right. I have a AAA account that gives me 6% off in addition to the 100.00 off. One thing was the website would not accept it? So I called and after the CSR tried to tell me that the AAA discount only applies to complete systems.
The AAA site clearly states that for all purchases computers and periphials?(Spelling) a additional 6% will be taken off.

So in short I called gave him my secret AAA code and he had to ask his manager to confirm and I just have orderd the 2407-HC for get ready.....

Please tell me thats a mistake.

I live in CA. The price is 579.00 + Tax = 633.33 Shipped. If you have a AAA membership you can call and have another 6% taken off 6% of 633.33= about 38.00

633.33-
38.00
----------
595.33

Are you saying 595.33 is too much for this panel?

I got all excited when I saw the $100 off, but the last time I looked at the HC wasn't it $599? My friend has a couple of these and they are just monsters. Really great monitors!

The last time you looked it was 679.00. Now it is 579.00 so a little better if you really want this Monster.

Is there some sort of code you need to mention? Or do you just say, "I'm an AAA member, my card number is X, so please deduct the 6% off."

If you have a AAA Membership you need to register with a user and password on the AAA Website. After you are logged on you can navigate yourself around to find instructions for the coupon code needed for the extra 6% off.

The AAA member discount applies to a specific AAA/Dell Store. The 2407HC cannot be found at that store. But like the other guy I guess you could call and ask for the deal.
You can also chat with a CSR online like I did a few weeks ago and he gave me a quote of $561+Tax for the 2407HC. I promptly called and purchased it. $595 with Tax shipped to Michigan. I wish dell would close the Michigan stores. Paying tax sux!

I've been waiting since the beginning of June for this monitor to have a discount better than $30, so I jumped. I can't wait!

This will also make a fantastic gaming monitor!!

I bought this like 2 days after it was released at the 679 rate. I'm the impatient type...but man it was worth even the extra 100 bucks.

I have the original 2405 and love it. I wish my GF would get a job so i could get her a new Dell.

Oh and from my experience when i got my monitor the best price was like 648 and I called in to speak to a Sales Rep. I said someone i knew got it at 20 bucks less can you give it to me for that. He said NO, so I said well I will wait on placing my order till it comes down in price. Within 1 hr i got a email from the same Sales Rep saying his boss approves the price of 624 would you like to place the order. This offer is only valid for the next 12 hrs blah blah.. needless to say i got an addition 20 bucks off with the coupon that was floating on the internet.

I would think the Dell Preferred Account / Credit Card could give you even a better price.

Bottom line is to Call and NEGOTIATE and not pay Website pricing.
