Thanks jrod148 & Specialk92282, worked great. My 2005FPW is on the way. I had to pay tax though. But with the 25% off and the $35 off, the deal still is awesome. I have a 2001FP and love it. I needed another LCD for my wifes PC. So she gets the 2001FP and I get the 2005FPW, oh yeah...

Fun, ok I ordered the 1703FP last week for $240. However I noticed today thay have hidden towards the bottem of their list the brand new 1704FPV monitor for the exact same price, but with better specs. So after calling up dell I was able to have them issue me a refusal for the monitor so I can get the new one instead, as mine had already shipped.

However they would not refund my 25% off coupon, so now I need another one. I have plenty of Gmail invites left I can trade anyone. I also have a 20% off Acc, and a 25% off axim X50 coupons. Pm me.

You know Specialk92282:

If you weren't willing to give out a portion of your coupon codes, please don't even offer it in the first place.

Got my hopes up. :(

Why the hell are people offering GMail accounts as trade item ?

These should be given out free a long with these 25% coupon codes.

It's not that difficult to get them, it just takes a lil time.

I'd say the 2001FP. I've got it, and it plays well, but aside from HL2, which can play this aspect (if your video card can), this widescreen monitor would probably make it everything look funny. Non-native resolutions are seriously compromised as far as visual quality, I think.

I'm looking at this monitor now, and thinking a dual setup isn't so bad...
very, very nice.

I think if you?re trying to decide between the 2001 or the 2005 unless you really want widescreen for a specific reason, go with the 2001.

The standard resolution screen will give you larger viewable area:

20.1 Diagonal with standard 4:3 ratio = 193.92 sq. in.
20.1 Diagonal with widescreen 16:9 ratio = 174.94 sq. in.

THE STANDARD 4:3 RATIO GIVES YOU 10% MORE VIEWABLE AREA!

If you want the details keep reading?

20.1" diagonal on a 4:3 aspect ratio will give you dimensions in the realm of 16.08" x 12.06" giving you an approximate total viewable area as 193.92 sq. in.
(That uses the typical 3-4-5, where 4 is the width, 3 is the height, and 5 is the hypotenuse right triangle)

20.1" diagonal on a 16:9 aspect ratio will be smaller given that any maximum area in a boxed area will be made by a square and the 4:3 is closer to a square than 16:9 however if you want to get specific about it here it is:

Given the 16? x 9? ratio or approximately a 30-60-90 triangle, you can use a little trig and figure the sides out to be 17.407? and 10.05? giving an approximate total area of 174.94 sq. in.

is 1600x1050 (cuz that's what my 2005FWP is running at)considered 16x9 ? wouldn't it be 16x10.5 ?
