from what i am hearing, if you buy an upgrade from dell you can send your old parts back to them and get money back, from what i read the money back is about $50 for the hdd, and something like $70 for both sticks of ram.
im not sure if they really check if you actually bought an upgrade from them, if they dont you can send in the hdd and ram if you want to upgrade (which you probably will), and get about $120... remember i dont know if this is actually posible without buying stuff from them, but it'd be worth a try.
