And it is offering the Ageia physics controller on its regular XPS 600 and XPS 400 desktops in versions priced at $2,039 and $1,239, respectively.

WTF? I thought that thing was supposed to cost 300! I know dell overcharges, but not by that much.

Yeah, but you can cut the resolution down to 1/4th. Run it at 1280 X 800 or what not. It will scale perfectly. Again, the sole reason that I am confident in my decision to buy a large screen at 1280 X 768... Looks great, great frame rates and still plays current games![]()

OT.. Archangel do games look good on your lil monster@1920x1200? I'm not going to spend a fortune for $LI or Cro$$fire high end gpus, so I was wondering about this..

Now that Dell owns Alienware... I'm sure we'll see a similar system from them - as if it wasn't already in Alienware's plans anyway.
The 30" Dell is sweet - no doubt - but why not buy a 56" JVC LCoS 1920x1080 for a grand more? 120Hz, better contrast, near-instant pixel refresh... and almost 2X bigger. Sure, you lose portability, but it would look amazing - even from the couch!
I'm running my system off my 42" plasma and I couldn't be happier, everything looks stunning! I've also got a 17" 8ms LCD, but it can't touch the plasma for gaming satisfaction!

My little monster cannot possibly do that resolution. Max resolution and my monitor is 1280 X 768 where it runs natively for every game I play, unless the game is 4:3, in which case it goes from a 30" wide screen to a 26" normal screen. Anyway, to answer your question, 1280 X 768 looks beautiful on the display.
For instance, BenSkywalker mentioned how beautiful the Xbox game was on his display at 1280 X 720 and basically, he said it looked stunning... There is a guy who is anal in every way about image quality and I guess he found it looked pretty good.
But, everyone is different. I love it though... Wouldn't trade it for anything at this point.

What resolution is your plasma? The reason people don't want a 56" 19 X 10 screen is the same reason they rip on my 30" screen. That would be like my screen running 900 X 540 or something like that. Though I totally AGREE with you... I'd rather have 56" of goodness even if it meant less resolution like 19 X 12 for that size of a screen... But, everyone is different.
