I usually give those away to friends and family who need a cheap printer. They typically use it for a month or two and then junk it.

it's already a business expense 😉

How hard is it to get the appropriate drivers for the 3000 so I can drop in my 160 gig sata and install windows myself?

Oops, I must have forgotten to click for the free printer. Doesn't show up in my config. Grrr!

punch in the service tag into dell's support site and u should be able to download essential drivers (audio, video, nic, etc).

You guys think the extra $50 is worth it for a Pentium 4 2.8GHz?

If you plan on keeping the computer, possibly. If you're going to sell it (like me), I think you're better off with the Celeron. I don't think the faster processor will get you an almost 25% higher selling price to make up the difference.
Do you check the box that says "this item is intended for resale"? I was just wondering how that works, maybe you could PM me some info....thanks.

SATA? You'll have to add some SATA ports first.

I checked that, simply because I do plan on selling the system. What info are you looking for?

Any of you guys get your confirmations yet? I got an acknowledgment e-mail about 90 minutes ago but that's it.

same here, still waiting for confirmation

Did you guys order one or two, or five or more? Seems like the acknowledgments are not coming so swiftly for the bid spenders.

I ordered one. Didn't know it had no AGP....I thought everything over 2400 series did. Looks like I'll be keeping the monitor and selling the system. Bumped it to the P4 though. And got my confirmation a little while ago, 25th ship date.

Looks like they may be holding back confirmations for people who ordered several. Confirmed on FW as well. Also one person already claiming Dell cancelled their order.

Seems like your best bet on this deal is to order one or two.

For those of you ordering 4700's, can you post your specs pre-discount and final price?

RossMan,

I did not order the 4700, but did config it with (I think) a 3 gig processor (may have been less), 17" FP, and free upgrade 80 gig drive (I think) for $419 (configured too many to remember). But, there are other good deals too. The 5100 comes in at about $470 with the 17" flat panel.
