Grr... you Albertans (?) and lack of PST... my total came to $739. Decided against getting the extra 2 years of warranty for 5 years. ~Paranoid now, two years later, probably want it dead.

Deal? Not really, at least not really for us in the USA. According to dell's website, i can buy it any day for $700...

Want more? Dell is currently selling it for $629.00! Cheaper then the "sale price" here.
Link for $629

Enjoy :).

That's $649 Canadian dollars, significantly less than $629 American dollars. Comprendo?

Guess that note was misleading. The US price was just there for quick conversion reference.;)

So I'll say it now, which should have been clear. Deal only 'legally' allowed in Canada. When checking out, you must agree to NOT export the product outside of Canada. This better not be a prelude to 'we're no longer selling this, new product tomorrow, same price...'.

The 2407WFP was $699 in Canada just before last Christmas. It was one heck of a price at that time. 3 months later, it is $50 lower. We're gonna see it at $599 before July 1st.

Let's see if the 2407's regular price stays at $849 after this sale or gets bumped down a notch to $799

Competition is going to heat up very soon in the 24-inch segment with all the major players launching new models, including some with cheapo TN screens (Samsung 245B)

BenQ and LG won't be able to keep selling for $800-$900.

We'll see lower prices a few months from now. I've been holding out on a large monitor for about 5 months now. I guess I can wait a little longer. With tax and shipping it'd be nice to nab one of these for less than $600.

Well I caved in and bought one. The order form said 11:59PM CST when I clicked confirm :)

Two of my other friends bought them today too. This will be my first LCD (currently on a mid level Samsung 19in CRT). I read a lot on AT, Hardforum, Dell support site, Widescreengaming and am hoping for the best.

It appears they are only shipping A04 which features proper 1:1 1600x1200 pixel mapping so I'm not worried about games that don't support widescreen.

Worst case scenario I'll eat the 15% restocking + shipping (~$125-135ish).

Mine shipped yesterday (ordered right before midnight on 3/20/07). Apparently all shipping are now Rev A4.

I figure if i don't like it I will either sell it on eBay or return it and eat th shipping/15%, whichever nets me more money back.

The 2407WFP uses an S-PVA panel.

According to Wikipedia all S-PVA panels are true 8-bit and use no color stimulation methods. This jives with everything I've read about the 2407WFP, I've never heard of 6-bit color on it.

That's good. Which one is 6 bit? I know there's at least one Dell 24" that is not true 8 bit color.

Interesting. From that thread (if you go more toward the end) it appears people are saying the A04 is still the same panel as before (S-PVA which is always 8bit). It's not clear whether or not some people actually received TN 6bit panels with their 2407WFP or whether it was a confused Dell CS rep.

Dell does ship cheaper LCDs with TN panels (the E2207 or whatever it's called).

When I get my 2407WFP I'll investigate for sure. Thanks for the heads up.

Has anyone that got in on this deal received their monitor yet? Mine shiped 3/21/07 and says estimated arrival date is 3/29/07 which seems long. No tracking number either? I'd like to try to be home when it arrives to prevent Purolator from manhandling it anymore than they already have.

Hey, I'm desperate for this. Is the deal still on?

Is there a coupon code, my total came to $900 didn't show any discount.

Thanks

Picked mine up from Purolator yesterday (ordered on 3/20/07 in the evening, shipped 3/21/07, attempted delivery 3/27/07). Only had a bit of time to play with it last night but it appears there are no dead pixels or other obvious issues. I need to test for backlight bleeding and banding, but from an hour of messing around in Windows and playing HL2, I noticed no issues other than my P4 Northwood and 6800GS AGP is not fast enough for 1920x1200 2X AA 8X AF v-sync on in single player! The E6600+8800GTS gets built tomorrow.

From what I know the 2407 uses a cheaper 6-bit panel, but the 30" version uses 8-bit (like the Apple LCDs)

FYI, I bought a 2407 last summer and got a refund for it because it had crazy banding issues. Dunno if the 04 rev fixes them.
