Dell Axim 300 Mhz PDA $149 at Dell Kiosks

Walking through the mall today, I saw the new Dell Axim. Since I ordered one on the 18th, I was pretty excited...

The hot dell girl complained that no one seemed interested... "and we're practically giving them away!"

I mentioned that $199 is a pretty good price...

She says, "No, here at the kiosks, we're selling them for $149. There's a $50 mail in rebate, and an instant $50 off but only here."

I almost fainted. There isn't any coupon codes involved in the price. Just the straight rebate, and an instant off. You get the PDA shipped, just like if you had ordered online (they don't carry much stock in the mini haycarts that serve as their sales platform). I think this applies to the higher-end model as well.

Since mine has shipped, I'm not sure if there's any way I can get this $50 back. Anyone know? And anyway to add a coupon code to the kiosk price?

And finally, this PDA looks MUCH better in person than it does on the website. And I think it's unbeatable for $149. Also, my apologies to those who are Axim'ed out.

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear. You pay $199 at the kiosk, and then get a $50 mail in rebate to make the total $149. Without coupons, etc.

Plus tax I'm assuming? Hmm.. pretty close to the online price then. *phew* Had me worried that 214.80 was high.

Yes, plus tax. My guess is that if you have a Dell kiosk near you, you were probably going to pay tax anyway online. Or maybe I just live in a stupid state.

I don't pay tax when I buy from Dell online. I live in PA so there's 6 of these damn kiosks around me, all under 30 minutes drive away! 🙂

Also, I think the Dell girl said that it had started today. So if your kiosk hasn't heard of it, it may be coming later, or perhaps they just haven't heard of it (which means you should gently suggest they look it up). What I hope she didn't mean is that it's a "today only" thing. I don't think so, but you may want to check that out.

I talked to the guy @ the Parks Mall in Arlington, TX@ first he said it was only a weekend deal, then he said it'd be good tomorrow too...

I'm so going to the mall tomorrow. Can't really afford it, but can't hurt to play with one and chat up with a hottie. 😀

You guys suck. Im going to vegas this weekend. How am I supposed to take a vacation with you guys tempting me all the time. 😀

I called the Kiosk in Vegas and they did confirm that the price is right. So i just gotta head out there and pick one up. Woo Hoo!

Looks like I will be passing by their [San Antonio] Dell Direct (yeah, they say Dell Direct on their commercials on the radio even though they are just small carts out in the hall of the mall) tomorrow to see if they have any such deal. I pay tax on their orders from Dell.com but it is still nice if I can save a few dollars after seeing that my Dell 1900FP has gone down $50 since I bought it.

Damn this is just as hot.

So for the advance model the price would be 266.4(with 5%tax). Still pretty hot. Now, if you could still use the 10% off coupon. I would be pissed.

Price that I payed for is 308, which is a result of 2X10% coupon and I pay tax, yes I pay tax for the good of this country.
Just received a 6.7ish ebates email. Less 50 rebate

Final price would be 252. Now, I do think that this thing is a tad expensive as far as I can think off. But with the discount that I get I hope that its a good deal. I hope it comes soon.

Thanks for the heads up. I am sure quite a few more people will buy this thing becoz of this.

But can dell ship in time?

Will that be tax free

How many hours do you need to drive? For me, the nearest is 5 hrs, but I doubt that they will be tax free. If anyone can confirm this it be nice.
