rev 1, june. first impressions: it's BRIGHT. ran my "blank" screensaver and don't notice any noticeable bleeding. no dead pixels so far (crosses fingers).

conclusion: it's BEAUTIFUL.

(17' flat crt --> 2005fpw, 1st lcd too)

edit: after spending some more time with it, the backlight bleed is becoming more evident. is it annoying? not yet. it's freakin bright though.

Is that normal? Or do I have a bad case of bleeding? The topright doesnt bother me at all just the bottem left and sometimes the bottem right.

Yeah that is the worst bleeding I've seen. Could be your camera exaggerating the effects, but i would return it if I could.

Could someone who knows comment on the possibility of going to the UPS warehouse and picking it up before they make a delivery attempt. I have to leave on the target delivery date, and I thought maybe I could call them and ask them to not send it out for delivery. *Shrug* I could call them I suppose.

Just received my monitor today. Ran that monitor.exe test program, no dead or stuck pixels. Very tiny amount of backlight bleeding in the lower left hand corner, but not noticeable during normal stuff, even during Doom 3. Got a game resolution switcher from the Widescreen Gaming Forum and have been playing games in beautiful 1680x1050, and even at 1024x768 set to aspect display, the interpolation doesn't look bad at all. If I didn't know how it looked at the native, I wouldn't really notice. Revision A01 manufactured June 2005. Very happy with this monitor, thanks for the price heads up!

yea its not quite as bad to the naked eye... so I think the camera exaggerates a little but it is still a bit annoying when watching a video the corners look weird. So do I just call up dell and be like uh... my moniter has a backlight bleeding issue can you send me a replacement?

that's pretty bad bleeding 510kut. i'll try to get some pics up this weekend. however, i get most of the bleeding in the top edges and barely any in the bottom two. watched a few widescreen clips and it really isn't that noticeable. still, it's the whole 'i want a perfect product' feeling. i'm undecided about calling them up for a replacement. going to be moving this weekend so maybe after i get settled i will.

btw, i had to adjust the brightness way down on my radeon 9600. i used to run my crt at like 25% brightness so the sudden shock of this lcd was a bit much. works a lot better now.

Hey do you know what number we're suppose to call to get technical support? I tried calling like 18009249897 and 18009249896 (I think they go to the same place) Anyhow I dunno my Express Service Number or Service number at that.... so I sent them an email about RMA, cause I couldnt get the live chat to work either. Says I'm not a Home customer.

Funny thing, i ordered online 7/26 when the 40% deal came back, and wrote them an email as soon as i got my confirmation number that basically said "IF I SEE BACKLIGHTING ISSUES or stuck pixels i will send back continuously until i recieve a perfect monitor. make sure before shipping! ". Dell emails me back and says dont worry, you will recieve R02 and here is a $35 gift certificate for my concern! Its worth a try by anyone else:)

This may be OT, but I'm wondering why it seems that the 2005fp is 99% of the time cheaper than the 2001fp :confused:

If someone can explain why I'd appreciate it, tx.

Btw I've had my 2001fp since Dec'03 and am debating whether to upgrade to 2005fp or 2405fp.

Refresh rate is really irrelevant with an LCD, although I believe it is 75hz. The LCDs I've used showed no difference when switching from 75hz to 60hz.

So is this deal still alive? I entered the 40% off as well as the $60 off $500 (added a jumpdrive that basically only costs $1 more due to the $60 coupon rather than $35) last night and it seemed to take both coupons. I think I may have to go with it today if it is still alive.

I got the same. I ordered yesterday the 28th and now today my status shows Agusut 12th-16th delivery date. That is weak as fvck. At that time the semester will be over and I won't be here, neither will anyone at the house perhaps, so I dunno how the hell I'm suppose to accept the package.

They overestimated with mine. I ordered it last Friday night (7/22) and received it on Tuesday (7/26).
