i remember $380 deal while ago...but right now.. it's the best deal i can find... if you can find a better deal..please post!

after dell missed earnings estimates several times i noticed they are not doing nearly as many crazy deals these days.

so i really am not expecting much cheaper than this for the dell relative to other lcds. i mean eventually all lcds will get cheaper, its just all the non dell ones will too.

$499 is an ok price, though the deal for the sceptre one at $380 or whatever would be better since they are likely similar quality.

you guys are forgetting costco's warranty...

Does not apply becuase Dell items are shipped directly from Dell.

That is untrue. Anything purchased at Costco no matter who ships it falls under their warranty. Several years back, my compaq laptop shipped directly from Compaq was having overheating issues and I returned it to Costco with no problems and even had the shipping refunded.

This one is the 2005FPW. Check the 1680x1050 resolution or the link (CostCo forgot the W I guess, but it does say wide)

Not Dell products go and check it out like I did before you say "Untrue". Compaq products are sold "In- Store". Dell products are not sold through the store, they are shipped directly from Dell, you actually get an invoice from Dell and your warranty is handled through Dell directly.

Let me know what you find out !!

i have been told that returning many items for a reason like "i do not want it anymore" as some people do when they return say a TV after a year to buy a better one will get your account flagged at costco. so well the "warranty" may preclude you from renewing your membership if it is abused.

And? If that is actually a worry for you then shop somewhere else.

That's not the case at one Costco in San Jose. I know someone who brings back many items, some items after more than a year and he has never been flagged at Costco for anything. I remember a stainless grill he had for nearly 2 years and it developed some problems. He took it back got all his money back. He's been doing this for 5,6, 7 years AFAIK. I don't condone it because I feel it is an abuse of the system. But if Costco allows it, then there will be people who take advantage of it. He might get away with it because he spends probably 20K a year at Costco.

I used to work at Costco in the electronics dept mainly. The only time you will get flagged for returning anything is if it is the same product over and over. Such as returning a computer every six months. Also, costco will accept returns on Dell products. At least the 3 stores I worked at did. Not all stores are the same.

no it is not a worry for me, i dont do crap like return a plasma tv after a year because i want a different one.

the fact that the , i can return it 500 times at costco thing is being lauded in this thread is just something i think is wrong. just makes other crap i buy at costco cost more.
