I got it $712 shipped. Used ent book $50 coupon, 2% off when applying dell credit card, 3% fatcash rebate. So 29% off. Hope I'll like it given mixed reviews.

Someone has given this monitor a mixed review?

Blasphemy!

😀

the 'graininess'/screen door effect when viewing grays and whites is the only significant negative, but it is easy to get used to (kind of pleasant actually)

Hmmm can't be nearly as bad as my 21"E540, I wish I had done more research on it before i bought it. I kept thinking hey it's a trinitron...After comparing it with my wifes Princeton 18" VL1812 I knew that my E540 was not up to par.

I checked out the entertainment coupon book website and did a search for "Dell" which turned up nothing. Is it possible the newer coupon books don't include a Dell coupon?

go to: www.entertainment.com/dell

Thanks, that did the trick!

you have to pay to be a member of entertainment.com 🙁

Mine is shipped today. Ordered yesterday, pretty fast! Can't wait to get it.

Thats really weird considering 2 things:

1. Dell does not ship on Saturdays
2. I ordered mine on Thursday and it still hasnt shipped

Did you use a special shipping method??

1. Apparently Dell does ship on Saturday. It's on route to carrier.
2. How could you order on Thursday when the 20% off started Friday morning?

I used the free 3-5 days shipping.

1. Apparently they do. Though I think it went out on Friday, but did not update your Order Status until today.
2. The Dell website was updated at 12am EST, I ordered at 11pm PST, thats how I ordered it Thursday night.

Then again yours probably went out of a different warehouse than mine. That warehouse may have been less busy.

Anyone know how I am able to get the $50 Entertainment coupon instantly?

When i sign up, do they send me an email with the code so i can activate right then online and use the coupon?

Read the bottom HERE. What they tell you on the phone apparently =/ what actually happens.

Deal is very much alive 🙂

UPDATE: Also found THIS right on Entertainment.com so it is confirmed.

Mine is schedule to ship on 27th. I didn't feel like using the entertainment coupon because I had already ordered it without it, I figured 5 dollars more off wasn't worth the trouble of cancelling and reordering.

ok, so this may seem like a stupid question, but I'm a bit confused...

Originally, I saw the 2001FP has a 16ms response time, I read this in reviews, and remember it particularly being cited in this forum. However, when I look here the tech specs say the response time is 25ms wtf??

Anyway, can someone clear this up for me? I certainly don't want to drop this kind of money on a 25ms which would be subpar for gaming and movies...

Hmm I coulda sworn a few days ago it said that the response time was 16 ms (10 up, 6 down) on the Dell site...

In any case, this panel is a re-branded LG panel. Which is the same panel as the Viewsonic 201b. Both have 16ms response time and the exact same specs as this panel.

Having had both a 25ms LCD and now this 2001FP, I'd say that 25ms is hardly subpar for gaming and movies. I don't think I would be able to tell the difference if I were paid to. That said, this *is* a gorgeous monitor.

hows the quality and sharpness compared to a sony trinitron or the mitsu crt...yeah im fairly sure its kinda like apples to orangles but man this 19" is a pain to lug around every 6 months.

I wish I could afford this right now. Friend of mine has it and it looks great. My 21" Mitsubishi is on its last leg too. Damn house, wedding, and projector.

I did some research concerning the response time on the Dell 2001FP.

As of last week the Dell website has not posted 16ms refresh time anymore. I knew from respectable articles that that the Dell 2001FP was a rebranded LG L2010P.

I proceded to go to the LG (USA) site (www.lgusa.com) and look at the specs of the 2010P to figure out what the response time is on the 2001FP:
Response Time: 25ms (Rise 13, Fall 12)
To make sure I was comparing the same panel, I looked at the Brightness, which matched the Brightness of the 2001FP (250cd/m^2)

At this point, i'm thinking its possible the 2001FP, despite all I have read has a RT of 25ms. I look at one more field, the Contrast Ratio:
Dell 2001FP: 400:1
LG 2010P : 350:1

So thats a good sign, maybe the Dell isnt the 2010P rebranded?? I follow some links and head over the www.viewsonic.com to check ot the Viewsonic 201b, which is also supposed to be a re-branded LG 2010P.
201b:
response time: 16ms
brightness: 250
contrast ratio: 400:1

So maybe the 2001FP is the same as the 201b and not the LG 2010P. It may actually have the 16ms response time since the brightness and contrast ratio match that of the 201b.

Next I head over to the LG international website: www.lg.com

I look into their products and pull the LG 2010P spec sheet from the international site:
Response time: 16ms!
Brightness: 250
Contrast ration 400:1

So I am now pretty confident that the Dell 2001FP, the Viewsonic 201b, and the LG 2010P (INTERNATION VERSION ONLY) are all the same re-branded LG panel.

In summary:

LG 2010P (USA)
Response time: 25ms
Brightness: 250
Contrast ratio: 350:1

LG 2010P (NON-USA)
Response time: 16ms
Brightness: 250
Contrast ratio: 400:1

Viewsonice 201b (USA)
Response time: 16ms
Brightness: 250
Contrast ratio: 400:1

Dell 2001FP (USA)
Response time: 16ms
Brightness: 250
Contrast ratio: 400:1

I'm a little more comforted with my purchase now. Still not sure why Dell removed the 16ms response time from their 2001FP specs. But, if they did switch to the 25ms USA LG panels, then they should have updated their contrast ratio from 400 to 350, and so this leaves room for potential return\refund\law suit, if this batch of 2001FP's is 25ms. Unless that is, LG came up with a new combination of panels which is 25ms response, but 400:1 contrast ratio.

Hope this helps a bit.

All I do is lurk in the HotDeals forum, but even this one sucked both me, AND my brother in. Got a notice that mine shipped today...I'm looking forward to it arriving now!
