It isn't a gaming LCD in the fact that such better ones exist. My planar 17" LCD is MUCH better at FPS's than this one...

Not doing too bad with FPS 😉

ive played on a 900mhz amd with 8mb riva tnt on dial up doing 30fps(800x600) just 2 yrs back, i really cant complain with what im getting right now heh

Id like to setup something like triple screen desktop, center crt and the 2 19" at the sides, but i dont have any space for it. Plus i will be eating ramen for a couple months 😛

This screen is too beautiful its just like whoa but i will upgrade to the 24" when price drops maybe in christmas.

Mine arrived today. I ordered it at 11:38PM on 7/26/05 and it arrived at 10:15AM on 7/28/05.

Gorgeous monitor. For $251. after tax and filler. ...Now if i can just figure out what i am gonna do with the speakers that i dont need

I love this monitor.

🙂 🙂 🙂

My monitor isn't going to get here until Monday 🙁
Sorry for a newbie question but I haven't had an lcd monitor before, is checking for dead pixels simply looking for them against a certain background or do you use a program? Looks like ghosting will be a problem but I only play games 3-4 times a month, and more on my ps2 than computer anyways.

I've read 10 reviews from established websites and they all say that monitor is garbage for what it's worth. So, please reply when your 1905fp finally breaks down.

There posted a link of a real established site. which "established" websites were you referring to that said the 1905fp were garbage? Anandtech itself gave an average of 4.7 out of a possible 5. I dont think dealtime.com reviews count as "established"
I bet your saying this to ease the guilt of not getting one? lmao

They arent the best i can say that, but their not garbage in any form of language.

His language/tone obviously shows he is a Dell hater. Barely any established websites have gave this LCD a horrible review, infact most of have said this is a pretty good monitor.
I'm a Dell hater too, but I have to admit they have good designed LCDs. Find me a good 8bit 19" LCD with pivot and height adjustment features. I have looked at several other companies and most do not offer these features unless you pay a pretty penny.

I would love to erase that Dell wording/logo off of the LCD and slap Samsung on it instead.

Also those who are saying can't play games/first person shooters, have you ever tried out those games using this LCD? Stack it side by side with a 16ms or 12ms LCD and you probably won't tell the difference. Stop throwing out stupid comments like, "nuh uh no gaming capabilities with this LCD, because of that 20ms response time."

As for the guy who got the Samsung panel, well have you read the Anandtech review? It shows the Samsung panel to have an 8ms response time. I'm am guessing that is 8ms rise 8ms fall (or whatever) so it equivalates to 16ms. However Dell can tweak their panel and perhaps they decided to give it a 20ms response time. Also the Samsung panel has 1000:1 contrast ratio. Again Dell said it had 800:1 response time not the 1000:1.

I don't think that I am throwing any stupid comments out there. Go to any LAN party where these are present, and compare them side by side with lower response time LCDs and there is a big difference in fast moving FPS games. Simple fact. My dad doesn't really like his either, but he had to have the desk space and so must put up with it until I can get him something better. I keep hoping that Dell will refresh their 19" line, but it just hasn't happened...

I think you missed the part where I said I bought two and sold mine 🙂

It'll ghost, sorry man. I had one and hated it 🙁 My dad has one, both of my suitemates had them, and I sold my to a neighbor for a $15 profit ($235 then).

You'll get used to it though, they all did, I just saw no reason too 🙂

Nat

it does ghost...and I will agree...you DO get used to it. I am glad I have a FujiPlus thats 12ms 19" that I can game on though. In slower games like HL2 the ghosting isint very noticable, but when you are trying to do well in a fast game like ut2k4...it gets really blurry 🙁

I got mine yesterday. So far so good. I'm having a bit of trouble getting the view to match the Planar 19in I already have, but I guess that is to be suspected.

Thanks for the deal!

can someone pm me with more info on this deal? im an at veteran here but i recently got another job which pays a bit more so now i can start actually viewing this forum. ive never applied these coupons/rebates on stuff so i could use some instructions.

thanks

I ordered on at 11:28PM on 7/26/05 and it arrived at 10:15AM on 7/28/05. Cannot beat that!!!

It is a gorgeous monitor. I love it, and am only sorry I am broke and could get two or three.

there is a deal for this monitor nearly however week... however this is the first time a deal this good has come along. a typical hot deal on this is pretty much anything less than $300 shipped. quite possibly the reason it went so cheap this time is because it's the end of the fiscal quarter for dell and they needed to clear out stock. that being said, the same exact deal may come along at any point in time, though it's not likely.

What do you mean about matching the Planar? Which Planar do you have? Are you trying to do dual monitor?
