Just got some real draft root bear from a local A&W by me. This has to be up there as one of my fav carbonated beverages of all time, with martinelli's.
I went to the store and bought some and it tasted nothing like it. The real draft one has this really smooth brown sugary vanilla taste to it where the store one tasted like all the sugar was removed and was carbonated 5 times more.

Found this site when I got back, looks like I'm gonna be spending a bit on root beer next time at the supermarket.
Update: Stater Bros had the Henry Weinhard's and the Stewart's.
I actually don't like the henry weinhard despite it having the highest rating on the rootbeer reviews. It tastes like the A&W but with sweat added to it. Maybe it'll grow on me.
The Stewart's tastes slightly less sweet than the A&W draft, and more carbonated. I'd imagine if you mixed A&W store bottled and the A&W draft, this is what it'd taste like.
A&W draft still wins so far.
