Dang.....I think you got a nice set of cars there, my friend. ^_^ I've wanted to know how an X5 drives for a while now, ever since I saw my first one in Ann Arbor.

I think SUV's suck too. I never let someone in an SUV out infront of me, because you can't see around the pieces of sh!t. 🙂

I respect your opinion guys 🙂 I think as long as the SUV is unique and different from what everyone else is driving, then it's all good. Hopefully in a few years my dad will let me convince him to buy a Porsche or old Ferrari after he retires. Cars are very personal items I think, some people might love yours, others may hate it. Doesnt really matter though, as long as you like what you're driving.

I think your family is rich, I am poor, can you give me some money?
PM me for my bank account number, then deposit money into my account, help a poor guy out!

lol yeah the Rover is in the shop a lot. wait...come to think of it its going in this weekend. It kicks major ass off road though, you can fly over trails and through swamps and stuff that no other SUV can handle. Nope, I dont live in Colombia lol, actually I live south of Boston. And no, the plane is not mine, I wish it was though. I got to fly it for 30 mins at Norwood Airport. Its a $3 million plane too 🙂
Check out pics of my friend's Rover (when the link works)

<< I picked all three of them that we currently own:

1) 1995 Land Rover Discovery w/ brushbar, Alpine navigation system and 6.5" LCD screen (no upgraded speakers, dont listen to loud music)

2) 1999 Mercedes ML 320 w/ navigation system, M1, bull bar w/ ion crystal fog lights

3) 2001 BMW X5 4.4- FAST. Nav system, sport package w/ 19" wheels and 285mm rear tires, etc.

Here are the pics

Just wondering what you guys think of SUV's. I love them, we take the Rover off roading and we're driving the X5 at New Hampshire International Speedway this weekend.

The Discovery is the true sport ute. The rest are merely cars trying to pose as sport utes.

I saw Car & Driver test the X5 on their TV show a while ago. I wasn't really impressed.
It has an awesome engine. I can't deny that.
But, they said it handled pretty poorly on certain smooth roads where they tested it. The optional suspension/wheels/tires made the ride too firm and it kept darting back and forth. It required a lot of attention to drive, and it might annoy or make passengers sick!
Also, with the back seats up, it has less cargo space than the trunk of a Ford Taurus. With those back seats down, it has less cargo space than a Ford Escape with it's seats down. So much for utility.

Yes, they are right in their review of the X5. It is a lot to handle. You really can't let your attention leave on the highway or it will drift around. Also, in order to get performance sedan-like handling, the sport package gives an incredibly stiff ride. It's the only way to make the 'ute handle well. Overall, I didn't want to get a 540i. It's just too plain looking to me, and something that can be overlooked on the road as "just another car" even though it handles incredibly well. The X5 looks like a really cool SUV hybrid vehicle, even though it has no utility. I dont really care though, it's a blast to drive as is the Discovery. Both have their pluses/minuses. The Mercedes is in between the two in terms of handling.

nice cars. yes, suvs do sometimes piss me off, but not usually, it really depends on the driver.

again, those are some fine cars.

SUVs are fine for hauling stuff, and for off-roading.

If you do not do any of the above I really dislike them. On average the handling is mediocre to poor (esp. on the highway), they're hard to park in city parking lots sometimes (depends on how small the spots are), they eat gas, and they cost a lot.
