You would need to hire a shop to do the work that is comfortable
with effectively complete chassis fabrication.

I drive a 2015 TLX. There is rumor that the 2016 TLX should have the turbo 4 cylinder which is not as much as a Corvette engine, but much better. I've driven both the 4 and 6 cylinders in the TLX and the 4 cylinder is not a slouch. Not sure why you bought the 4 is you wanted more. I bought the 6 with the advance package. I love the car.

What you described is certainly possible with enough money. You are looking at AT LEAST 20k unless you are doing it yourself, and even then it will be STEEP.

Save yourself the money and just buy a nice used c6 corvette. Similar price, much less headache, and you won't have a car that you threw tens of thousands of dollars into and will never recover. Also you get to keep your TLX for a nice daily driver.

This might give you an idea of what's involved.

:thumbsup: You'll have to cutout the entire middle of the body and part of the firewall to fabricate a tunnel for the driveshaft. Also, your seats might not fit back in after, carpets and center console most certainly won't fit so you'll have to fab something. You'll need to fabricate motor mounts, might have issues with the motor fitting with the Acura cross member, plus the rear end would need to be completely fabricated to fit in your car (more cutting and welding). With as much as you'd have to cut out you will probably need to fab a completely new chassis. Not to mention getting the ECU to work with your car.

It's a huge undertaking.

You're looking at an entire driveline swap (engine, transmission, etc) - not just removing one engine and putting another one in.

The Acura TLX is the replacement for the Acura TL and the TSX. The low end is $31,445, but optioned out it comes to a bit over $50K. It is a phenomenal vehicle that has only been out for about 7 or 8 months and has gotten great reviews. The car when ordered with the advance package option almost drives itself. I really love mine.

Does it handle? Well, the first time we took one autocrossing, we set FTD with it - by a margin of nearly 4 seconds. We've destroyed our own lap records around our local track, outrunning purpose-built race Miatas with a street-oriented V8 Miata. Yeah, it handles.
