OH...ok. double post. Guess you meant to put this in the first time. Remember! You can edit it and add it in! But you should know that. ^^;

I was going to guess that maybe it wasn't set as primary/slave correctly, but it seems you checked that. What brand HD? Could just be Dell.

Open Administrative Tools
Open Computer Management
Go to Storage
Next, Disk Management

Your can now format addon Harddrive.
The rest is history.
