delete all devices in xp?

I just updated my system but i left my windows installation intact. my old and new mobos are nforce2's but windows xp is listing some devices with a #2 next to them, and it is not detecting my logitech mouse properly. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling mouseware(logitech mouse driver suite) to no avail. I also tried doing a 'repair installation' from the xp cd to force it to redetect everything...but there seems to be hidden devices not listed in device manager that need to be removed....is there a way to do this?
