Actually the GOP tends to be more respectful as the minority. Democrat presidents as a whole get a lot of their agenda passed and they almost never encount roadblocks like the filibuster. Most DNC presidents get their judges appointed in large margins and historically have been able to work with the RNC. Is this the case with the current DNC? Hell no, they are trying everything in their power to stifle the government.
At this point, there are so many petty arguments that Congress is pretty much shut down. Every single thing the president has laid out has been roadblocked in one way or another. Democrats are refusing to vote in committee on ANYTHING meaning it can never make it to a normal vote.
If you are me, it is BS, and it is unprecedented. They are most likely doing themselves much more harm than good. The party of no, and no options is always a bad place to be. If they were intelligent they could actually use the fairly weak RNC majority to advance some of their ideas and concpets (if they have any) to regain a bit of resepct from the American public. Seriously, the RNC is basically handing them opportunity left and right and they are too blinded by hate to see the openings.
