Hilarious, I hope this gets some decent press. "Do as I say not as I do"
What a steaming pile of delay.

I think if anything should be obvious by now, it's that a lot of people in politics are full of crap. They have these principles that only seem to apply when they are after something else. Just watch all the Republicans who are currently saying the libs should respect the president, support the troops and listen to the majority. Next time we have a Dem in office, I wonder how long they will respect the president? I bet they don't last through his first speech.

Is it me or does Delay make it a point to do the EXACT OPPOSITE of what he says?
Just another example of the GOP hypocrisy, "Do as I say, not as I do".

DeLay's smoke may have run afoul of his principles, but it did not violate U.S. regulations at the time. However, it would now. Last September, the Treasury Department Office of Foreign Assets Control tightened its prohibitions against U.S. citizens importing or consuming Cuban cigars. Even Americans licensed to bring back up to $100 worth of Cuban goods are no longer allowed to include tobacco products in what they carry. The regulation also noted that Americans are barred not only from purchasing Cuban goods in foreign countries, but also from consuming them in those countries.

Talk about an unenforcable and unreasonable law.

I'm waiting for Rip to come in here and say that it was a vast left wing conspiracy and the Cuban cigar in question was planted by a liberal commie agent.

Actually the GOP tends to be more respectful as the minority. Democrat presidents as a whole get a lot of their agenda passed and they almost never encount roadblocks like the filibuster. Most DNC presidents get their judges appointed in large margins and historically have been able to work with the RNC. Is this the case with the current DNC? Hell no, they are trying everything in their power to stifle the government.

At this point, there are so many petty arguments that Congress is pretty much shut down. Every single thing the president has laid out has been roadblocked in one way or another. Democrats are refusing to vote in committee on ANYTHING meaning it can never make it to a normal vote.

If you are me, it is BS, and it is unprecedented. They are most likely doing themselves much more harm than good. The party of no, and no options is always a bad place to be. If they were intelligent they could actually use the fairly weak RNC majority to advance some of their ideas and concpets (if they have any) to regain a bit of resepct from the American public. Seriously, the RNC is basically handing them opportunity left and right and they are too blinded by hate to see the openings.

Yes and that shut down is responsible for the balanced budget Democrats/Clinton likes to take credit for.

Welcome to Bush's USA! Brezhnev would die of envy had he seen what Bush and his Taliban Party have achieved in such a short time!

What a hypocrite POS DeLay truly is.

The Repulican Party should be doing anything it can to rid themselves of this embarassment.

They should take some of DeLay's own advice on judges and use it on him.

There's plenty more to be worried about that DeLay has done than smoke a Cuban stogie. I'm just curious if he dipped that cigar someplace where JimmyJeff might have liked it. ;)
