Degree, Job, Salary, GO!

Just out of sheer curiosity I would love to know what you guys do for a living, what degree got you to that position, and how much you make. I completely understand that these are personal questions but I am actually doing this for my own good. On the road to premed I started to think that maybe a degree in science might be useless if I just so happen not to make it into med school. This is why I am thinking that maybe I should switch my undergraduate to something more reliable and stable in terms of income. Please do share any advice or information you have.

Degree: Biomedical (still in school)
Job: None currently
Salary: $3000 (govt checks)

That said I have been dead-ended in my current job as my company has decided to stop accepting experience in lieu of a degree, so I just started school last summer for an IT degree:hmm:

I have a BA in Economics. It got me a job with IBM as a Systems Engineer (technical sales support), I then moved into sales for 8 years. Left there to join a construction company that I now own. As far as salary, it is up and down, but I have made a very good living, and at 54 years old am debt free and getting close to retirement.

Not the highest salary in the world, but I get a ton of awesome benefits and I rarely ever have to work more than 40-45 hours in a week. I also work with one of my best friends, which is awesome. I don't think I'll be leaving any time soon.
