I clearly state I feel sorry for the marines.

Why would I feel sorry for the marines? Why don't we think about this..

Because they're getting sent over to get killed in what I think is a worthless war. Let me restate my view so you can read it again, since the first time it didn't travel from your eyes to your brain.


I feel sorry for our marines, and I do not feel any enmity towards them. They are being screwed, getting screwed, and are screwing themselves.


Also, I listed WWI and WWII because those are the two major wars America has ever engaged in. I could have listed the Korean War (I am S. Korean, after all), but I decided to limit myself to just the two major wars. And don't get started about Vietnam, that was definitely not my generation, I wouldn't dare talk about something I only have a faint idea about.


EDIT: My post was also a response to someone who felt like just because some Marines in the past died in what was clearly "right" vs "wrong", we should get on our knees and worship the Marines that die today in a different conflict. As you can see, I clearly disagree.

Lesson today is "Don't fsck with the Hmong" They were bad ass in Viet Nam and obviously they are bad ass here. Loss of life is a tragedy no matter the circumstances. It's easy to be desensitized regarding news like this since murder and mayhem is so prevalent on the news and in our country
