Armageddon was a horrible piece of crap for a movie. Aside from the terrible physics and plot holes, the entire premise of the movie was ludicrous. Someone thinks that it'd actually be easier to train oil drillers to be astronauts, than to train astronauts to drill a hole? An asteroid the size of Texas and they only have to drill 2 miles down? Oh, and the magic nuclear cutting ring of death being perfectly oriented along the axis of the asterioid such that it split perfectly in half?

At least Deep Impact was sort of realistic. It wasn't great either, but at least it didn't make me gag.

I LOVE ARMAGEDDON!!! Deep impact sucked.

If Morgan Freeman was the President in AG, it would have made it on my top 5 ever. Currently it is in my top 10.

I know it's on there, but I cannot find it on YouTube, but the President's Speech about the end of all man-kind is the best ever.

Of course it is not realistic, that's the fun, just enjoy! :D

Armageddon annoyed me. They seemed entirely too "YEEEEEEEE-HAW THIS IS FUN!!!!" for people who were trying to save the Earth from annihilation. The end was pretty good, but everything before that was too goofy.

Deep Impact was okay.

Armageddon FTW.

like you, I saw Armageddon but not Deep Impact. My logic says give the benefit of the doubt to the one I can't be sure is a dog turd.

Deep Impact FTW.

Deep Impact was terrible. Its sole saving grace was Morgan Freeman, and he wasn't even utilized well enough to make it worth the while.

AG, as others have said, tried to be a dumb, popcorn, action movie, and it succeeded. You can watch AG and be entertained, you watch Deep Impact and fall asleep.

"There are two comets, one of them is bigger then the other."

Armageddon was pretty funny, i liked it for what it was.

If you need to fall asleep, Deep Impact is on right now on TNT

Tea Leoni has that same "my pad just leaked" look in EVERY SINGLE ONE OF HER MOVIES. She even had it in Bad Boys and Family Man.

Never saw DI or AG in theaters,
So i guess AG wins because it's the one that TV networks bought to syndicate

True, but she was exceptionally MILFish in Family Man, especially the shower scene.

Yeah, she was pregnant in real life for that movie, so MILFish indeed. She look quite emaciated though in Spanglish.

I have very vague recollection of Deep Impact, but I think I thought it was ok. Armageddon was enjoyable though and ya, I teared up a bit at the end.

I don't have any TV subscriptions. Although I may get basic cable through my cable internet, I don't have the TV hooked up to see. :)

I'll admit that I teared up when Ben Afflek was going up the elevator thingy into the shuttle and yelling down to Harry that he loved him.

Hell, why are my eyes tearing up right now? DAMNIT!!!! :|:|:|

I admit it. I own Armageddon on DVD. But I think I've watched it maybe twice in the past what...8 years? It's one of those purchases I regret in some ways. I mean it's a comical thing to watch but its over the top "Only America can save the world so all should bow down to the red, white, and blue" kind of turned me off after the second viewing.

Both movies are "meh" at best. There are better things to watch...like Apollo 13...or the Right Stuff.

Hm, for some reason I thought Armageddon and The Core were almost exactly the same movie; anyone else get that feeling?

1) A lot of Bruckhemier movies have a flag-waving, we are big-nut Americans thing going on (think Pearl Harbor, Top Gun, Bad Boys 2, Blackhawk Down, etc)
2) The Right Stuff is teh pwn!

I would group The Core more with Deep Impact than Armaggeddon.
