4. Packers (6-10) - Sorry Favre, better retire soon. Make way for the future, this team isn't winning soon.


well ...........he doesn't like the packers, they almost made the playoffs last year thou, at least they didn't give up, even won there last game beating the bears

The packers should have been 6-10 last year it's just that 4 of their games are against high school teams and their last game didn't mean anything to the other side.

Just because they came close to making the playoffs in the NFC doesn't mean they don't suck horribly.

Fully aware the Rams' defense is mediocre at best but I think it will be improved from last year and the offense should be able to compensate enough for it to win a lot of games. And I think that if Cutler can play well, Denver has all the right pieces to be a serious threat to win it all.

As stated earlier Hester is most dangerous on offense as a decoy and Rex does not suck. He man played his first full season and helped take his team to the Super Bowl, jesus you guys have high expectations. Olsen has proven already to be a dynamic TE and can block, run extremely crisp routes and has outstanding hands. Watch out for dem BEARS!

As with the records, the playoff predictions in the first post might not be perfect with the seeding (who is playing who), but whatever, you get the idea. I didn't bother adding up the total wins like some people found, because even if I did that, it still might not be plausible unless I actually figured out each individual game, so I'll just leave it like it is.

I think its AWESOME that so many bears fans are coming in and complaining. I've got the bears as the #1 seed in the NFC and going to the championship game, but oh no...I don't have them winning the superbowl, and I said their offense is worse! Yes, the rookie TE has potential, but they lost Thomas Jones, which IS a hit, don't lie to yourselves. Hester is not a WR...how well did Dante Hall do as a WR for the Chiefs? Plus, I'm sorry, Rex Grossman isn't good. At all. No one that isn't a bear fan thinks he's any good. And just because he managed to injure himself 3 years in a row, doesn't absolve him of the first 3 years. He's in his 5th year.

Johnlee, the Chargers don't have Wade Phillips anymore, he's busy coaching my wonderful Dallas Cowboys. That will hurt the defense to an extent.

About Vince Young - I did, and still think, that he is not good. Have you looked at this numbers? They're abysmal. He's a slower Michael Vick. And the team went 8-8, why does everyone act like they went to the Superbowl or something? On top of that, subtract his best WR and RB, and the defense takes a big hit...he'll be back down to earth where he belongs. I still maintain that Leinart and Cutler are better than him.

yep.....and hester is more of a decoy than anything. When he's out there, the D has to pay attention to him flying down the field which opens up the rest of the O. Also, no team in their right mind is going to kick to Hester everytime, so he will not have as good of a year in that sense, but will give us good field position everytime.

Everyone rips on Rex, hoppin on the media's BadRexGoodRex bandwaggon i see? This was his first season. He played every game, and the bears got to the superbowl. Does there need to be any more to it than that? Yeah they have great D, but so do the Raiders and Dolphins, did they make it to the SB?

yeah he played every game. im amazed. i was waiting for him to get hurt. him surving the seasons is a huge improvement.

and yes you never know what rex is going ot show up. one game he can have 120 passer rateing or a 0.0 and cost them the game.



when he is on he is amazing. but when he is off? man he is bad.

Did any of you Bear's fans actually watch the games last year? Rex Grossman did almost everything he could to ruin their season, it just so happens that Urlacher is the anti-venom for Grossman so they cancelled each other out and hester put them on top of the NFC.

Joke but still, how can you expect a quarterback like that to win a super bowl? I know there are some mediocre QBs with rings but I don't think any of them had many games (let alone 3 in a season) where their passer rating was below 20-30.

Granted the Bears will most likely win the division...not because they are some powerhouse...simply be default that everyone else in the division isn't good.

The Viqueen's most seasoned receiver is a retread from the Packers and the Lions who haven't won more than 6 games in a season for the past 6 years you magically now have with a winning record...they have Matt Millen as the GM...

The Packers have nothing on offense granted...if they pull out some big plays it will probably be on accident...

However their defense will carry this team and IMO (I am sure people will disagree) will do just as well if not better than the Bears by the end of the season...

They have upgraded the D-Line across the board, have just as good if not better line backers than the bears and are only lacking in experience at the safety position...

The Packers will be at the bottom of the heap but I can hardly imagine they will be worse than the Viqueens or the Lions...

As for the comments how "good" deeko is...remember a broken clock is right twice a day...


Lastly, if you are going to call me a homer and "stand by my team" guy...at least call out some of these Bears fans who are obviously BLINDED by their shear love for their team to not realize that Rex Grossman is a terrible QB and is one of the main reasons they lost the SB...who cares that he actually "played" for his first season...it isn't like he was introduced to the NFL last year. He was a QB that was in the system for at least 2 years prior so get off that excuse...

Haha oh man I ripped this guys fantasy team this morning too. He must have gotten pissy and decided to go back and find this post. Dude, its a simple fact that I don't think the Packers are any good. They weren't good last year (they'd have finished a game worse if the Bears hadn't taken that last game off, don't forget), and I think they got worse in the offseason. The offense isn't as good as it was a year ago, to say the defense "will do just as well if not better than the Bears by the end of the season" is just plain ignorance, and CLEARLY "homer" mentality. Your entire rant is discredited by that line alone. The Vikings also have a better defense than the Packers. Did the Packers lead the league in rushing defense last year? Oh, and is the Packers' QB moving farther past is prime, or closer to it? Yes, the Lions are a perrenial bad team, but they've got a lot of talent, and its my opinion that they'll do better this year. You can cry all you want, and hey, maybe the Packers don't finish last in the division...but finishing 3rd in the worst division in the league is nothing to gloat about, so don't bother if it happens.

Expect the Ravens to be the #1 Defense in the NFL again. We won't suffer with the loss of Adalius Thomas. He was as good as he was because he played with the best Defense in the game. Dawan Landry will have an even better year than last.

I never get too excited about our offense, but Demetrius Williams will receive a lot more attention from McNair. Im not that excited about McGahee; it's hard to say.

We'll go #1 in the AFC North.

Yeah, I think they're going to suprise some people. Their O line and D line will be very good even if Strahan stays out (which is doubtful). Tiki may have even hurt the team last year with all the distractions he caused. Sure, he was a great player and had a great year, but I think Jacobs/Droughns will be a great power running combination, and watch out for rookie Ahmad Bradshaw. He's a cut/speed guy who reminds me very much of Tiki. He's been impressive so far. They're very deep at WR and RB. Again, their real weakness is the secondary, but they have potential even with Madison out.

Don't get me wrong, I certainly don't think they're a great or even very good team, but I don't think they're nearly as bad as everyone else seems to think.

The bears and ravens are both very good defensively...The defensive line is a tough call, Harris is pretty nasty at DT, but I'd say I agree with the LB and DBs. I might say that Woodson is the best out of Tillman/Woodson/Rolle, but I don't know. He had a lot of picks last year, but that doesn't necessarily make him the best corner - just look at McAllister, he gets very few picks but is easily the best CB of those 3 teams.

ahhh come on ThePresence, don't pull that "distraction" crap. The media (and crybaby eli) made a bigger deal out of that than it was. Tiki has been the best offensive player on that team in a long time, he will be SORELY missed.

Talent doesn't equal wins...I think the Lions have exhibited that quite well the past 5 years...

Statistically they were not off that far last year from both the Bears and the Viqueens...

The only real margin was in PTS/G

I don't recall saying the Packers or Favre would do that well on Offense or in the W/L column...so please don't put words in my mouth...

I WOULD like to know what your gauge for a "good" qb is...cause even though Favre's best days are behind him could still start for 2/3's of the teams in the league

The difference is you apparently like to go down with the ship and won't see the errors of your ways...we can revisit this at the end of the season and see who owes who an apology

Nah, none of those guys are nearly as talented as Tiki, and you can't just combine the three and pretend they will be the same as one player.

Yes, my post on your fantasy team was a nice way of saying I didn't like it. I think Gore/Brown will both underperform their draft spots. The only thing I like about your team is your WRs, and yes they are good, but like someone in that thread pointed out, good WRs will only take you so far. But that's a discussion for another thread.

And I didn't say Favre was bad. I said he's declining. The Vikings will be better than last year. Would I take Favre over Jackson? Most likely, but simple fact that Favre will be a year worse, and Jackson will be a year better. Vikings also improved at RB (drastically), Packers declined.

ha, dude, why would I owe you an apology for anything? I said I thought the team you happen to follow would do bad - ohhh I cut you deep didn't I? I can try to find you a good counselor if you need one. Like I already said (and say every year), the NFL is an ever-changing year, and you never know what's going to happen. I'm quite sure I'll be wrong on some of my predictions, I can tell you that right now. However, in the case of the Packers...unless they go New Orleans on us, which I highly highly doubt, you haven't proven jack. If they finish 3rd instead of 4th in the worst division in the NFL, they're still a very bad team, even if slightly better than some 23 year oldsoftware engineer in PA thought they'd be in July.

If I had to "admit I was wrong", like you so adamantly state I should, then I need to predict every team to go 16-0, because fans of every team have unnaturally high hopes in the preseason. I'm not exactly innocent of that myself, I believe I have had Dallas representing the NFC in the Superbowl the past two years. Deal with it.

That remains to be seen. Jacobs is a beast and Bradshaw shows Tiki talent and speed. They're still completely unproven. But together, potentially, they can be as good or better than Tiki's workload. After watching every snap of preseason this is just my opinion. Feel free to disagree, most people will.

The secondary is obviously their weakest point, no doubt.
Eli has shown much improvement under Gilbride's playcalling.
He's had a real solid preseason so far. Let's see what happens.

Of course the preseason means absolutely nothing as far as how well the team will do.
But it does show player development and showcases individual talent.
