I hope they do O.K., but things are not looking good. Favre did however tell HBO the other day that he would like to play 4 or 5 more seasons.....Favre is the greatest.

Peyton Manning is never winning a super bowl. Period. The dude chokes on big games like Hendrix on barbituites. He'll blow it in the playoffs and blame it on everybody else. Again.

says the guy apparently from u of florida. Manning is the best quarterback in the NFL, bar none, and I honestly am pulling for the Colts almost as much as my own team, just to shut people like you up.

I'll take Brady over Manning every day of the week thank you.

And the Patriots will be better than people think, as the rookie kicker will be just fine (not saying he will replace Vinatieri, but Vinatieri wasn't particularly good last season if you actually watched the games).

Can we remember to come back to this thread at the end of the year? (not trying to taunt the OP, but generally any and all of these predictions tend to be quite inaccurate, so it will be amusing to see how well it did).

...says the Patriots fan, I presume since you're from MA. I, on the other hand, as a Cowboys fan, would take Manning over my own first ballot hall-of-famer Troy Aikman. You'll see, after he wins a superbowl or more, everyone wil finally understand.

We already brought up my predictions from last year, and clearly some of them were quite a bit off. That's sports - no matter how much you think you know, some things just go completely awry.

I'm not saying Manning is bad, he is #2 after Brady imho. But if I want someone to lead my time and not just be the QB, give me Brady who you won't see on the sidelines with the "Manning face" blaming everyone but himself.

And of course I'm from MA, but put it this way I wasn't predicting the Pats were going to be the best back in the day when they were one of the bottom-feeders of the nfl.

Also at the very least, the reason why I think your AFC East prediction is incorrect is that the Patriots have a much easier schedule this year (and I think the Dolphins 6-game win streak was fluff, considering whom they played -- the lower teams and the Patriots 2nd/3rd stringers).

But at the least I can agree with you that I can't wait for the season to start 🙂

yep- - you are clueless. ATL over the Bucs? Are you serious?

I believe I already said that one was a close call, but Atlanta added some key players, and I didn't really see that from the Bucs. Plus those guys on defense that took them to a Superbowl win in 2002 aren't exactly spring chickens.

I agree they aren't spring chickens - but we still had the #1 defense last year.

Additions?

How about David Boston? Yes, he has some issues, but he's a huge, FAST receiver. Jamie Winborn?

We are VERY strong at wide receiver, strong at QB (As long as Simms stays healthy, and Gradkowski, although a rookie, is showing veteren abilities), Cadillac is in great shape, and the O-line has never looked stronger.

Don't forget the stingy corners, Barret Ruud @ MLB, Pro Bowl kicking squad, Monte Kiffin, and one of the best NFL head coaches in the league.

Atlanta? Who is one of the most innacurrate passers in the NFL going to throw to? Crumpler can only do so much, and HE'S getting old. Defenses have figured Vick out - he would be a much better WR than QB. When he plays the Bucs, he's usually on the sideline by late in the 2nd QTR crying about how he can't run.

My predictions?
Bucs 11-5, loss in 2nd round of playoffs
Atlanta, 9-7, not even a WC option.

**EDIT***
Our biggeat problem is our REALLY tough schedule. :|

Pats-boy, you're just trolling for attention now. Go back into your hole.

SuperSix, meh, I'm not really impressed with David Boston, and while Joey Galloway had a great year last year, I don't know if he can do that another whole season, he is 35 after all. Don't get me wrong, I think Tampa will be a good team and will definitely fight with Atlanta for a playoff spot, but I see Atlanta getting the nod in the end. Only time will tell.

Steelers just a fluke last year? hah. Once our secondary (*cough* Ike Taylor *cough*) gets their coverage ****** together, our defense will be absolutely incredible. Once Ben is back, there wont be much stopping our offense either. Seems as if Fast Willy can handle a good load afterall.

If you actually watched the game they lost you should have a ton of respect for Peyton for not throwing his O line under the bus. They just plain blew it. He got time all year until that one game. He didn't blame it on anyone else even though he could have.

Peyton and Brady are both incredible QB's, the only reason to take one over the other is for a particular system. Brady is a little more collected and makes next to no mistakes, but I honestly believe that Peyton has more talent.

Last night wasn't a fluke, but the Steelers were a flash in the pan. They won't be horrible this year but they won't win another super bowl. Miami is still a great team and they were 2 stupid plays away from winning. Dante lost it late, he won't do that all season.

LISTEN UP HATAS! T.O. WILL NOT, I REPEAT, NOT, RUIN THE COWBOYS THIS SEASON!
I am not saying he won't next season, but this season he will be fine. Jerry Jones paid him the $$$ and he will be fine for at least one season.

So much for that Miami prediction eh Deeko? LOL

Its one game moron, last time I checked there are atill 15 more. You're right though, they might as well hang up their cleats after losing their opener, away against the defending superbowl champions no less.

Man you're dense.

ps note - the Steelers looked better than I expected them to, I will admit that. This is a plus to the Steelers, not a knock on the Dolphins.

They couldn't beat Pittsburgh with Charlie Batch as the starter! They made him look like Joe Montana with 3 TD passes! Miami's secondary sucks, their offensive line is just offensive, and Ronnie Brown misses those bong hits from Ricky.

1. Yes secondary sucks.
2. The O line gave Daunte a lot of time most plays, Daunte lost that game.
3. Ronnie Brown was mediocre.

Typical NFL overreaction.

Did you look at Batch? He looked very sharp. He was making a lot of great throws out there. Say what you want, but you want to talk about the secondary, take a look at your own team, it ain't exactly a bunch of pro bowlers. And Ronnie Brown is a great RB, he happened to be playing against one of the best run defenses in the NFL, and he STILL came up with 60 total yards and 2 TDs.

Again - its week one, don't be an idiot (at least more than normal). I still stand by what I said about Miami, partly because I still think they're a good team, partly because I think the Pats are on the downward slope.

Ummmm....
pwned?

Maine - another NE fan upset that I picked against them I take it.

Daunte looked pretty good until the last few minutes, actually. Yup - he single handedly blew the game, but like I said to moron boy above, that doesn't mean his season is doomed.

Daunte has 6 straight games of 2 INT's or more

In other news, Jacksonville (ya know, 12-4 made the playoffs didn't really lose much in the offseason) might be without 3 key defensive players tomorrow for the Dallas game. That makes me pretty happy.
