lmao at Jets prediction. Look for a losing season there. I think it's going to be a fight for the basement in the AFC East. Bills or Jets? No more than 10 wins combined between the two (excluding their victory over each other.)

Steelers, Ravens, Bengals, Browns - perfect.

Jacksonville will by right up there with the Colts; one will be 1st, one will be 2nd. Jaguars might even have the better record than the Colts.

NFC East might be the toughest to call. Skins in last? I doubt it. Dallas doing as well as you think? Doubt it as well.

Yea, more people agree with you on the Jets. I think Rex Ryan is going to have a big impact there. A part of me wants to put the Jags higher than I have it. I've always thought they were a good team, and I think the Holt signing is bigger than most analysts give credit. Last season the defense did pretty bad considering how talented they are though, which confused me.

They'll be better. The defense won't miss a step. The Ravens defense loses their DC every couple of years, they also lose an LB or two every couple of years, they remain one of the top Defenses in the league. They won't miss Rex and Bart, there's already a couple of young linebackers that are stepping up to take over for Bart. This was the number 2 defense last year with a ton of injuries, they'll be just as good if not better.

Their offense is much better. Kelley Washington is looking to be a decent pickup as their number 3 receiver, and I expect Clayton and Mason to play as well as they did last year. Todd Heap looks to be finally back from his injuries, he's looking great. Our much improved Oline should allow for Heap to go out and catch more passes instead of staying back and blocking. Flacco has also looked great. Look at his stats for the last half of last year, he was one of the leagues top QBs, he just had a slow start.

Ray Rice has taken over as first string RB from Willis McGahee, and Leron McClain is looking great as a FB/RB. Rice is gonna have a breakout year IMO, he's looked great so far.

They'll still have a top 5 defense, but for the first time they'll have a very good offense. A franchise QB has been the missing piece for this team over the past decade, now they have him.

Edit - The Ravens went 11-5 last year and all the way to the AFC championship game with a rookie HQ, new OC, rookie QB, a ton of injuries, and no bye week. If you think they'll only go 8-8 then you must think they have taken a major step back this off season. But who knows, any given sunday right?
 
you have the cowboys making the playoffs again, awesome. That was an interesting and unexpected pick.
 
Because I'm sure in your predictions, you have the Eagles as bottom-dwellers, right? Before you respond with something like "but everyone knows the Eagles are a top team this year", remember that last year everyone in the country loved Dallas, and yet I was still lambasted for picking them.

Unless I put Dallas at 3-13, if I dare say one good thing about them, some of you will have some snide comment about it. I think the Cowboys will be good. I have listed legitimate reasons why I think that. Deal with it?

I've always liked Rex Ryan. I wanted him to be Parcells' successor in Dallas over Wade. So maybe I'm overstating his impact. However, I'm not as sold on the offense as you are. Mason is old (as evidenced by his near retirement), and I don't think much of Nate Washington. Flacco did surprisingly well last year, I'll agree on that.

Replaces Harrison at his prime? No, but he can certainly do as much if not more than Harrison did the past two seasons. Wayne has already taken the role of superstar wideout, and Dallas Clark is an elite receiver in his own right.

The running game will be much more key to the Colts offense than losing Harrison. I don't know what happened to Addai last year, but he just looked bad. Maybe he'll turn it around. Maybe Brown makes up for it. In my opinion, that's the make-or-break question for the offense.
 
NFC West will be interesting- I'm hoping the seahawks regain the division- last year was a disaster.

I think the defense will see a much bigger drop off when Ray retires than they have whenever they've lost a DC. Also, Nate Washington is on the Tits I believe, not the Ravens.
 
My analysis of your picks:
too high on bears
too down on falcons
too high on cardinals
too high on jets
too low on ravens
too high on colts
 
I am a Steelers fan, but I think the Ravens will probably win the division. Bucs will win more than 4 games, and Patriots will lose more than 3.
 
Can't wait, Steelers had a Superbowl season without some pieces they look to have this season:

Sepulveda is back, the backup punters couldn't kick 40+ yards to save their lives

Mendenhall is back, if he doesn't get broken by Ray Lewis again, he should help keep Parker healthy

Stefan Logan - at long last, the Steelers have a legitimate return man

Timmons should be an improvement at ILB over Foote on the D

Sweed should be an improvement at WR over Washington on the O (even the 4th and 5th WRs should be better)

I laugh every time I hear NFL columnists or broadcaster's get upset with each other over prediction's, you should never get that involved over speculation. Take a hint.

Dem Iggles, I just don't know. I don't have any true read on them, and feel they could go anywhere from 13-3 (ok, 12-4) to 7-9 (ok, 8-8). One thing for sure, they will start out slow and then come on strong, as they nearly always have under Fat Andy.

I DO like your analysis of the 'Boys, though, and this is coming from a certified Philly Phanatic who HATES Amerika's Team with the passion of 10,000 bloody placentas laid end to end to end.

And, yes, I know that image makes zero sense. This is still the pre-season, nothing NFL related has to. :laugh:
 
Falcons, Vikings, Ravens, and Houston I think will do better. Bears, Cardinals, Colts will do worse. I think Buffalo will be a surprise team this year.
