Voted 'politics not my thing', but that's not exactly correct. I don't enjoy typing much, and don't feel like typing long well reasoned responses to people who don't give a shit, and whose minds won't be changed. It's just mental masturbation, and not a form I enjoy.

I've considered it as maybe some of the worst of the retards with their canned "I'm superior than you stupid person, idiot moron blah blah" garbage responses, but I'd probably still get too annoyed.

I still wonder why I even wander into the current P&N cesspool as it is anyway. Sometimes I wish I could just block it entirely so I wouldn't ever be tempted to look or see a possibly interesting thread title.

It's there but appears not working because there are no reply/post buttons. So it's debatable if it's of any use to us!

That's because it's permission based only. You have to ask to be admitted, and it can be approved, or not. They're doing that keep riff-raff like me out :^D

I am in but don't know how much I'm going to contribute yet. Been just kind of gazing over the threads and so far haven't found one where I take a strong stand on and my points haven't been brought up already.

Unsurprisingly, I was added in the very first batch of invites. Likely for my typically fair and balanced posts and insight.

Sucks to be you I guess. I'm kind of enjoying it.

It is people like you who end up going on a killing spree because of... well, whatever sets you lunatics off.

I guess the moderate/well spoken people will go to the debate club while P&N will degenerate into pure idiocy. P&N should be far more entertaining soon :awe:

No. I think it's a bad idea. They ought to spend the time cleaning up P&N instead of taking the "reasonable" people out of it.

I am not in, never asked, but would welcome being allowed in, since cool kids join clubs.

We are at a time now when OT continuously attacks P&N, but then attacks those that attempt to get away from that they find problematic in P&N....

\the mind boggles...

What does it say about me that I'm in debate club but never applied?

Just a guess but we can all view it but cannot post, unless of course you request access and are approved.

I can view the forum, the threads and posts but when I click reply I get an error.

Agree somewhat. It is frustrating in P&N to eventually not be able to have a normal conversation because of nutcases/trolls. But it's still worthwhile to see what the talking points are for any given perspective.

That said I think I'm the type to pose questions/arguments that elicit thinking from other people. Some of the lengthy diatribes I see in Debate Club I'm just too lazy to do, especially because if you make a perfect argument there it really just means nobody is going to try and rebut it (and what fun is that when nobody replies to what you say). This style of communication really just lends itself to responding only when you think someone is wrong or made a mistake in their logic.

I like it.

It's like a more casual and less insane P&N.
Somewhere in between P&N and OT, but with a narrower focus on issues.

what are the chances of me gaining acceptance (I don't like rejection :$ )

Pretty darn good. People have been given the benefit of a doubt to show that they're capable of engaging in rational, intelligent reasoning without resorting to personal attacks.
