Debadging my car

I'm thinking about debadging my car after I give it a couple mods, in order to give it a more sleek, cleaner look.

I drive a 2002 BMW 325.

The only problem is that I'm thinking some people are going to be under the impression that I did it because I'm ashamed of my car, "you just want people to think you have a 330".

Is that what you guys would think if you saw that the emblem was removed? What would go into your heads?

On most things, I don't have a problem with debadging, but cars, it just makes them look like cheap knockoffs for some reason to me.

Based on the fact that you own a BMW people are already going to think you're a pompous prick, and they would likely go even further after you removing the badges.

However, you shouldn't care what other people think. If you like the look, then do it. People like to look down on others, especially when it comes to cars, so its not really going to matter in the end.

Seriously though, do not de-badge your car, it is just going to make people think you want them to think you have an M3 or a 330. That and it does not look more streamlined, it looks tacky and ricerish.

Hmm.. not what I think at all.. But if everyone else is going to think that I guess I'll avoid it.

If you like the look, then do it. I think it looks good on very certain applications, on Bimmers I USUALLY like it. It's your car, man.

As long as you attach the emblem to a gold chain and wear it around your neck, you'll be set.

When I see a debaged car I automatically assume it's the lowest model and they want to try and 'fool' people.. Especially BMW/MB

Thats weird. Thats exactly what I think when I see it on a civic or something, but not at all when I see it on a BMW/Audi, etc

Driving the 325 I understand your need to debage. Would you debage if it's a M3? Obviously you care what people think or esle you wouldn't be asking the question. With that being said it's your car do what you ever want and why give a shi+ what others think.

Tons of people debadge their M3's. I don't think you understand my question.

Re-read the first post.

I remember when my uncle got his Mercedes S600 de-badged of the V12 and S600 badges at the dealership, so that people think he has an S300, because he was afraid if people knew it was an S600 it would get stolen in no time.

looks incredibly tacky. only thing it makes other people think is hey? wheres the badge? makes your car look like a generic knockoff really, and you like a tosser that would bother doing such a thing

I did it because the first two weeks of owning my car, I had all these kids revvin at me at the light. I debadged the car, and everyone thinks I have a regular Mazda 3. :-D All is calm!

I usually assume it was in a wreck or had some body work done or is riced up. I wouldn't want to buy a used car like that.
