As usual the left wing hypocrisy machine is in overdrive. "Threats of violence are wrong! The angry rhetoric is the reason for this, it has to stop! That nasty whore bitch Palin is at fault!"

If nothing else, Palin sure has the effect of riling up the left wing nuts, which is always entertaining. Too bad she's a moron, or I'd support her running for pres.

Entertaining, absolutely. However, her brand of poison politics does nothing except make her look like the cheap sensationalist airhead that she is, along with making the whole political process of our Nation the laughing stock of the world.

Riling up the left? I guess thinking that way is one way to salve the wounds that she's inflicting on herself and the party she represents, but the left taking her political aspirations seriously enough to get riled up about it is a stretch at most. From my POV, I interpret "getting riled up" over her antics as the Dems banging away at her with glee as if she were a piñata and watching all the free negative repub/tea party "candy" continuously fall out of her.

She is viewed as a non-threat side show by the Dems, except for her possibly causing situations such as the tragedy in Arizona. In that regard, yes, absolutely, the Dems, as well as most everyone else do take her antics quite seriously.

edit - If she would only change course and take the high road in politics, I think she'd quite easily be a contender. She does have redeeming qualities, after all.

Come on, only a nut case would take what she says and act on it in that sort of way.

I'm of the opinion that it is completely wrong b/c...

It is wrong to threaten anyone with deadly violence who is not doing the same to you. Clearly, Palin's idiotic ramblings are not doing that and she is undeserving of any threats against her life.

On the other hand, I find the irony almost amusing that she had used violent metaphors at every opportunity during their campaign and even afterwards in trying to drum up support to defeat Dems in local races and is now seeing what this type of discourse usually results in.

Yeah threatening her life is bullshit on so many levels. Aside from it being a crime it also would make that Bimbo a martyr and that'd be absolutely tragic for our country. She needs to be protected around the clock.

I thought only hate-filled conservatives spewed this kind of vitriol.

The left better how nothing happens to Palin, because if something does and it looks like it was done in retaliation to this shooting in AZ, there is going to be a backlash this country hasn't seen in some time.

First, nothing is going to happen to Palin. 2nd so if something does happen, shit is REALLY going to hit the fan. Got is asshole. Palin = backlash. You really got your head stuck up there pretty good.

So.. .Maybe for the safety of her family and the american people, Palin will quiety retire to a remote location in Alaska and never show her face on tv or in any kind of publication again?

Well, the Republican Party wanted to be sure Palin didn't win the nomination in 2012.
So, I guess they are the big winners in this whole mess.

They're not threats, they're symbols on a survey map

Survey symbols actually... not like these bullseyes...

When has Palin ever threatened to kill someone? Oops, never.

Blaming her in any way for what happened in AZ is idiotic. There could be 100 shootings like this and I would still suppose the right to buy and keep my own guns.

You're a gullible idiot if you think those were "survey symbols" and not reticles. You're also an idiot if you don't see the difference between using those reticles for individual representatives, including Giffords, and putting bullseyes on states.

You are an idiot for not realizing the reason there was a symbol over her name is because she represented one vote for obamacare. Only an idiot would take a political statement designed to encourage voters to concentrate on some seats they could hope to win for their party at election time as a murderer hit list. Only an idiot would accept referring to someone who is not of the same political affiliation as being an enemy. 3 - 2.

I win the idiot name calling contest 3 -2. Which makes you the idiot. 4 - 2 now.

Even though the political divide and partisan rhetoric on all sides is somewhat at all all time high now, I find it difficult to blame that for this latest Arizona shootout.

I blame it on the lone gunman and there is no making sense out of a nut. There are thousand if not hundreds of thousand of such in the USA at any one given time. Sure we can say that the Arizona shooter showed all the classic signs, social isolation, moving away from all his previous friends, disturbing outbursts, but still not all that different than many such cases. The point is and remains that most of such somewhat nutty people never become a threat, and usually later straighten up and reorient.

But in the case of the Arizona shooter we have a case where everyone and their brother and law is now saying we should have known this was a coming and stopped him before. And down that road is a police state.

As for all the free floating hate speech and lack of logic pundits, I just think they are not too influential in the twisted logic of an actual about to use violence nut. We can maybe refer back to John Hinkley, the fellow who wounded Ronald Reagan, and we later find that somehow Hinkley though if he killed someone any one important, the movie star Brooke Shields would suddenly love him. Nor did this recent shooter's elevator seeming go to the top, we might say he was targeting the democratic congresswoman, but once he seemingly killed her, why did he not simply leave mission accomplished? But no, he did no such thing, and simply started shooting everyone around him, a Republican Federal judge, and 16 more people, including a nine year girl. And would have shot more but finally got tackled while trying to change clips. That is not the work of a nut with a focused mind and clear target, its an act of total violent senseless killing and nothing more. If he did not pick a democratic congresswoman to initially target he would have picked someone anyone else.

...with the small correction to the side point: Jodi Foster was the object of Mr Hinkley's thoughts.
