On the other hand, I find the irony almost amusing that she had used violent metaphors at every opportunity during their campaign and even afterwards in trying to drum up support to defeat Dems in local races and is now seeing what this type of discourse usually results in.

You lefties are so funny. Decry violent rhetoric, then use it. Blame the shooting on Palin's violent rhetoric, then blame Palin's death threats on Palin's violent rhetoric. It's like you actually want people to see you as dishonest idiots incapable of even the simplest logic.

Ah the old Sarah Palin strawman. Nobody called it a hit list. What we are saying is that it's irresponsible to use that kind of imagery. Giffords said that when the map was published.

Interesting how Palin took down the map right after the shooting...

Right, he is just a "Nut", like those people threatening Sarah Palin. Thats exactly the point. You have no idea who is threatening Sarah Palin or if they are left wing, yet people made the jump and then applied it to all left wingers. Maybe I should explain this to you... Slowly. Violence begets violence. As someone posted an article earlier, Palin could have chosen to show good leadership and say something to the effect of "It was never my intent that anything I've said be taken in a context meant to incite a violent reaction. While I do not believe that my words had an effect on this individuals actions, if anything I've done or said did influence him I apologize. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims ..." whatever. She could used this moment to show humanity, remorse, leadership. No, she chose to go on the attack. It's what she always does. People who use aggression and violence are always surrounded by it. I heavily dislike Palin and think she should never have been given any form of spotlight. I dislike that people feel justified for some reason in threatening violence against her. Most on the left will also dislike Palin and also be against violent words or actions towards her. But when you use violence and aggression you attract the attention of others who do as well. Like any public official with polarizing views she likely would have to worry about threats against her regardless of her own actions, but when she responds with her own aggressive behavior she makes it worse.

For the record, I do not believe that Sarah Palin's words or actions had any direct effect on inciting this unbalanced individual. However she is a leading figure in a group that has had multiple people suggest using "2nd Amendment remedies" or similar phrasings.

Are any of the people decrying Palin's use of crosshairs making death threats against Palin? If not, 404 hypocrisy not found. Ideologies can't be hypocritical, only people can.

If I had a dime for every time I've seen "the left" accused of hypocrisy because one person of "the left" said or did something in contradiction to what some other person of "the left" said or did I'd be a wealthy man. "The left" isn't a person. It isn't even animate. It's an abstraction.

It's amazing that the same fallacy can be repeated so often and no one ever gets called on it.

You are one really mixed up dude. Let me explain this slowly (where's the crayola font when you need it?):

1. I didn't blame Palin's words for causing the shooting
2. I do believe that they can and just may have contributed to it just like any person on the left making statements of the same kind using violent metaphors
3. You don't know jack shit about me, my politics or my thoughts on any topic other than what I have posted and you don't even know if I'm just trying to rile up fucktards such as yourself to get a stiffie.

Think about that when labeling me or anyone a "lefty" on the basis that you think you have some insight into my psyche from a couple of random internet posting. Because, if you don't, you show yourself to be an "idiot incapable of even the simplest logic".
