Dear lord, nearly 1500 dollars for my insurance, PER SIX MONTHS!

I pay $1400 per six moths, so I feel your pain, brotha. My father pays $500 per year. Is he a better driver than me? Propbably. Is he 6 times better, like insurance rates suggest? Hellz no.

how many tickets do you have and for what?

I'm a new drive, so my record's clean 🙂 Anyways, it'll just be a car to drive from school to work.

Try $8800 a year. That was mine for about a year. I was 19 and had two accidents on record. No one would pick me up!

Now THAT is insane! I feel sorry for you!

But today i visited Farmers and State Farm, the only two insurance places in my immediate area. Farmers quoted me 28XX dollars, whereas State Farm wouldn't even accept me! They require you to have at least 3 years of driving before you can be covered under their Full Coverage.

I'm 19, male, no accidents, no tickets, good student.

When I started college in 2001, my insurance shot up $1000 just because I was going to school out of state.

23 year old male with no tickets, good gpa (when I was in school, pre-graduation), all that jazz..

I pay $1200 year for a 2003 Subaru WRX.

Just watch it when you're comparison shopping...a lot of insurers are putting hard inquiries onto one's credit reports when they just get a quote (and they don't even need the SS#). Which means that not only are they looking into your credit to determine your rates, but they're also hurting your score in the process (which means your current insurer or whoever you go with can jack your rates up even higher for being a perceived "bad credit risk").

Couldn't you have just taken the bus or something? That amount of money just for insurance is not worth it.
