EA shill lol.

Fair point. But gifting is still something EA should have thought of, its not as if they are flying blind with origin they should have learnt something from steams past 6-7 years.

What they should and shouldn't have included in their app is pointless to argue about, when that's not the issue at hand.

People who don't pay attention to details, I'm sorry to say, deserve whatever happens next. This is a world all about details, and just because you've gotten by day to day with head down, feet shuffling, and merely moving about your business like a zombie, doesn't mean it won't bite you in the ass eventually.

Be thankful the inability to pay attention only resulted in a $30 mistake versus a far more hefty price (if not paid in blood).

I constantly complain about people who act like morons and behave like they are clueless and demand help and hand-holding when shit goes wrong, even though it was clearly their fault.

I cannot count the number of times I've turned around when I can see a store is closing instead of asking to be let in, nor the number of times I've not sought refunds for purchases that were a mistake of some sort, or in general simply took the mistake in stride and moved on with my life, instead of demanding of others their assistance/forgiveness/empathy/money for something that was clearly my own fault.

I have sought refunds before, so I go against my own beliefs at times (what else is new?)... but I certainly don't bitch and moan online when the situation clearly spells out "I'm a retard, don't know how to pay attention, caused a major issue, how do I work the system to make it work out for me in the end?"

Now, if this thread was about Origin simply being a waste of everyone's time, a POS app, and what have you... I would quickly agree.
And if this was about Battlelog being anything related to absolute shit, well... I'd definitely speak up in agreement.

Just get back on the phone with EA customer service and DO NOT TAKE "NO" FOR AN ANSWER. This is how problems are solved in life.

With that said, it'd be nice if Origin would prevent you from repurchasing a game you already own. If they won't support "gifting", they should have locks in place to prevent this type of situation from developing.

EA shill lol.

So because someone is offering a different opinion, and one that you don't want to hear, they are an EA shill...ok. Great logic. Makes total sense.

true. EA did say recently that they are removing the mods ability to ban game accounts.
Technically its a violation of free speech. shame no one sues. but imagine the lawsuits filed if people complained to their mortgage bank about something and the bank took their house and kept the money invested.

Do you even know what the right to freedom of speech is?

With Steam, it asks you if you want to Gift before you Pay. If Origin doesn't, don't assume it will allow you to afterwards. I hope EA rectifies this issue for you and I hope EA/Origin makes Gifting possible(if they haven't), but really this was your fault otherwise(assuming I understand the situation correctly).
