I like her and her music.

I don't think she fits into the rigid cultural world that America has degenerated into since the 1980s, where there is mostly only an illusion of diversity as far as mainstream culture, and little tolerance for anything unusual from brain-dead mass-market consumerists.
No, really. That's not it at all. She just sucks. The only reason anyone likes her in the first place is that they've had her music force-fed to them by the music industry (just like almost everything else), and the only reason the music industry put all that backing behind her was to cash in on the buzz generated by the death of her husband. She's just a puppet and I think this fact is starting to dawn on her (hence the ever-downward spiral of her music and personal behaviour). I guarantee her label will punt as soon as she's not making them any more money.

At any rate, an artist owes it to their fans (however misguided they are 😛 ) to put on a decent show considering the price of tickets these days and this kind of crap is just totally inexcusable.

I think you're misrepresenting Kurt Cobain's complicity in his own suicide. Get it?
Complicity....Suicide

While I agree that she is burning out, she is after all a rock-star. They are not generally known to be the most responsible of people. It is a shame that her child and those in her immediate orbit will suffer but there are worse tragedies on this earth than to be "used" by Courtney Love.

I don't think her "complicity" in his suicide is to be ignored. Being "used" is one thing, being ABused is something else, and this is what I was speaking to. Her abuse of bandmemebers, techs, and other production staff is well known in the industry.
If she speaks to people like that she doesn't know, I can only imagine the hell she unleashes on those that are close to her. THIS is the complicity in Cobain's suicide, I was speaking to.
Until you've lived with a insufferable bitch, I don't think you know how good death can seem to be. This is the "complicity" I was speaking to.
Do you "Get it" now? 😉
BTW, the "rock stars" I know, and I know more than a few, are generally well adjusted, recovering (in some cases) responsible parents. The only one's I know that are still abusing drugs are no longer in the business, dead, or are young ones who think drug abuse is a badge of honor or merit or something.....
I believe it was Jerry ( who I knew perfunctorily) who said "the wheel goes around". and so it does.

What in the hell are you talking about, you conspircay-touting moron!

His post while reeking of liberal, academic, pseudo-intellectual snobbery, does not in and of itself seem to indicate a penchant for paranoia.
I was all ready to bash you for being a knee-jerk neocon, but whaddya know, that post really does reek of liberal, psuedo-intellectual academic snobbery.

The woman is obviously in a great deal of emotional pain and many will line their pockets on it before she's though. It's a shame really.

Cocaine is a helluva drug...

Glad to see the courts took Francis away from her. Talk about your disfunctional family..

<Francis>Dad's got a big hole in his head and is feeding the worms...and mom...well I sure do miss dad...

Her music was better when Kurt was around. She seems aimless now.
Yeah, it helps to have someone else write your stuff when you have no actual talent of your own. 😛

She did it to herself.

Someone had to go and buy the drugs while the other one was bringing home the bacon.

Maybe I'm strange but I have empathy for people who are clearly suffering and in pain.Maybe I have a clue about what it's like trying to live every day with a black spot in your soul.

I heard on the radio in Seattle that she has blown all her money and some (they said all but i dont think she can do that) of her kids money......

Good responses, I was being a bit sarcastic however 😉

I don't think I want you deciding which music we should listen to.

I'd rather have the emotional, ego-driven, self-destructive behavior of a Courtney Love than most all Hip Hop and Gangster Rap.

Fortuantely, it's not a choice of one or the other. So, if there's anything you can do, Fausto, so that the rest of us aren't accidentally exposed to Courtney Love on accident (flipping through the channels, or whatever), thanks!

During Love's 90-minute performance, she frequently swore at the crowd, repeatedly bared her breasts in front of a platform full of uniformed Atlanta police officers, forgot lyrics and chord changes, consistently slurred her words and stumbled around the stage.
She's a disgrace.

I agree w/Fausto's comment about "with the price of tix these days, the performer owes it to the fans to put on a good show."

Now, I'm a metal-head. I've seen more than my share of concerts where all the bands were torched out of their skulls. I was also torched out of my skull at most of said concerts. 😀 But still, cussing and stuff is acceptable, as long as the music rocks.

When you forget lyrics to songs you allegedly wrote, miss chord changes, etc, you just SUCK and need to hang it up.

Courtney Love needs a .50 caliber pain killer between the eyes. Wastoid.

she is so strung out on drugs. time for her to get checked in before she ends up committing suicide, too.

Fvck no. If she's going to kill herself who are any of us to stand in her way. Plus, that will even the score for Kurt at least.
