Alright! I just got mine. No dead pixels. This replaces my 2001FP and here are my impressions.
1- It's wide. I've never had a widescreen before but it feels funny. It's like I can't focus on the entire screen at once. Maybe it happened with the 2001FP and I got used to it and now i'm adapting again.
2- It's too bright. The colors are washed out. I gotta adjust gamma/brightness on this thing.
3- It's not just a streched 2001FP. We all know about the component inputs and the memory card slots on the left side but there is more to it than that:
*The power on button is not the same kind. You have to press it and keep it pressed for a second for the monitor to turn on. (
*There is a separate button for PiP now, no more navigating through the OSD everytime you want to turn it on (Good move from Dell)
*No more power brick, you just use a regular monitor power cable now.
*There are 5 small number shaped leds to the left of the buttons that let you know which mode you're using (VGA,DVI,S-Video,Composite, Component). Neat.
*And finally, remember on the 2001FP when you hit the switch source button by accident? you'd keep hitting to go back to , say, DVI and once it got there, the screen would go black for a couple seconds, THEN switch to DVI. Well, now, it doesn't happen. Not much of a change but appreciated nonetheless.
