I was browsing through pricewatch.com and looking at the 1.1 GHz cpu's when I saw TCWO's price of 56 for the CPU. I clicked on the buy online icon and the TCWO webpage came up at 39 for this CPU.
46 bucks shipped for this cpu is lower than anywhere else so I purchased it. I placed the link below but you may have to go through Pricewatch.com to get this price. Click on Cpu and then click on 1.1GHz Duron and the TCWO buy online icon and you're there. Other Duron's 1 GHz and 950 Mhz are also lower than what is stated on Pricewatch.

1.1GHZ Duron

Yes, all Durons 1.0 and up are the Morgan core. Thanks for the deal, i have my confirm. Nice catch 🙂

Awesome deal. If you go straight to their website it costs $64. And I thought I got a good deal on a 1.0 GHz retail Duron when it was $51 shipped at Newegg last week ...

Can any of you tell me if I can use this CPU on the Gigabyte GA7DX - it does not mention that it is NOT supported on this board on the gigabyte website..it just says that the board was not tested with this..any of you guys think I can ? thanks..

Laid back... It will work.

Antman... I did the same thing! Not much else was as good a deal though. (For anyone who don't get it, just keep changing the last number of the URL).

ARG!!! i got a 1.0 gig at TWCO for 47 a WEEK AGO! MAN i was looking for something like this! )$@*Y$@) SHNIZTEL!

I believe the KT7-Raid that was on sale at compgeeks would work with this and you would have a good set up for under $100.

After doing a little bit of research, it looks like this Morgan-core Duron is not compatible with the KT7-RAID. More specifically, you may experience intermittent boot lockups, requiring reboots. Once booted, it should be stable, but buyer beware. I'm in nonetheless...

... been resisting but jumped on this before they're all gone. just ordered this cpu, now i gotta get a mobo... and if i'm gonna replace mobo might as well add new big hard drive... and if that, might as well get a user friendly case to put it in... dammit, hot deals has sucked me into building my first system!!

Any recommendations on a mobo? want something economical but that will be upgradable, prob. also will need to use 133 memory for now but that could be upgraded in future...thoughts?

<< b****ds, upped the price to $56 >>

Yep, same for me as well. :|

Nice deal though for those who jumped on it~! 🙂

I bought a 1ghz duron from newegg about 2 weeks ago and it won't boot with my Iwill KK266-R. I know the system is good though because it boots with my 900mhz Athlon and works just fine. Any clue if this core could be incompatible with my mobo?

Newegg has a retailed box 1.0GHz Duron for $52 and the package includes a fan...what are your opinions on the quality of the enclosed fan ? One buyer was not very happy with the fan enclosed...any opinion is highly appreciated..

Coooool. Had my order in cache. Worked out for me. Wahoo! Thanks to AT once again!

As it turns out, I have to return the Dell PowerEdge 500SC server, since they screwed me on the order placement date (which is going to nullify the $250 rebate). That piece of sh!t isn't worth $538 without that rebate. Dell is suck! So anyway, I have to build a replacement web server. And this is it!

Don't knock me on the processor (going into a server and all) - this will be much faster than my existing P3-500 server, which is just fine under IIS 5.0.

thanks, NewPhatDaddy..If I combine the 1.0GHz Duron with the recommended Super Cool fan, I end up spending $52.95..Newegg has the retailed Duron 1.0GHz pack that includes a fan with it for $52..plus comes with free Fedex shipping..what do you think I should do ? what do you say to the quality of the enclosed fan..doesnt look too robust to me from the pics..

I will go with Newegg. Newegg's retailed version + fast shipping (most likely you could have it by Friday)

TCWO's OEM and take a few days to process before it ship, then UPS ground. (might be 10-14 days process+ground)
