Nice clean setup. That spot was made for your PS3!

I actually re-arranged it heh. The Xbox was where the PS3 is now, and the PS3 was going to go where the Xbox is now.

However ... I only had a 3 foot HDMI cable, and it wouldn't reach down there, so I had to make some adjustments :p

The way I see it ... current gen systems are on the top shelf, and last gen systems are on the bottom :p

I played some of my PS2 games. It looked horrible until I upgraded the firmware and ran everything at 1080i. DVD movies looked good. This setup will do for now.

Get some BR disks STAT!!! I'm sure you want more than the standard 5 in the mail.

What do you think about using the credit for the 80GB version? Essentially, you're just paying $50 more for the 20GB as you get Motorstorm in the bundle.

80 GB just doesn't seem like a good deal in general... It's like the Elite 360 after the price drop and addition of HDMI to the other models. The price difference and the added features just don't line up.

FWIW you can get Motorstorm for under $40 shipped on eBay. Although having played it in stores, it's not a game I'd buy.

Well, looks like all of them are sold out anyway... oddly enough, it says "in stock" on one side and "this item is not in stock" on the other side :p.

I signed up for the Sony Card that gives you $100 back after your first purchase anywhere (rather than the $150 from SStyle) and I still haven't heard anything about my card. I just graduated college this past spring and never have had a credit card before, has anyone in a similar situation had any problems getting a credit card? I think it's only been 3 weeks since I applied for it, but I'm just being impatient because I want to order my PS3. And from what others have mentioned, you can call up the company and see what the status is of your application? I might have to do that...

I'm doing it for a couple of ps2's which i'm going to resell for christmas. I figure they will be hot items, and profit the $150 when i'm done. I also signed my mom up so with the profit, I can buy something else I want.

for those of you who ordered them, do you have any estimated delivery date or anything? also do you know what method it shipped from or where it's shipping from?

thanks.

I ordered 08/06.
It shipped 08/08.
Will be here 08/10.

Shipped UPS from CARSON, CA.

When did the free shipping thing start?

Oh and where do you check your Sony points?

Cool thanks.

Too bad I don't know wtf is going on man.

Today I signed my mom up for the card and she wasn't even accepted instantly. I don't know wtf is going on with that crap. It's pissing me off. I better get my thing in the mail before August 31st so I can get my damn ps3 for $350.

unfortunately both you and your mom's credit is up for review, you might want to see what's on your FICO.

Damn. 60 gig is out of stock.

I might go ahead and sign up for the card in the event that it comes back into inventory.

FWIW also, the demo in store is not NEARLY the same as the final game.

I too played the demo in store when it first came out and was like "wtf is the hype around this game for?"

Then when I got mine, I dl'ed the demo off the PSN and its SSSSSOOOOOO much different. It actually made me want to buy the game and is the main game I currently want for the PS3. So today I found Motorstorm and Resistance on ebay for $76 shipped so I snagged them up.

I'm not sure if they will... if you look, the 80GB is also out of stock, but it has the ability to back order. If that one can be back ordered, why can't the 60, unless it won't be carried anymore... we know they're planning on dropping it. Oh well, probably saved me from yet another impulse buy :p.

yeah I noticed the demo wasn't as cool as the promo video's. For one I heard they cleaned up the framerates.

Is there a time limit to make the first purchase? If not just wait until they restock.

Well I went ahead and applied (and was approved) for the card in the hopes that the 60 gig ones come back in stock sometime before November.

From what I'm reading, the 60 gig is 98% backwards compatible. The 80 gig should be around 80% with more being slowly added over time. I looked through the titles and most of the stuff that I would want to play is covered. Primarily sports games and Bushido Blade from the PS1!

I might just hang around to see if they bump the 80 gig down to $499 and then cash in on the $150 bonus bucks.

Heh. Going off of the "vibe" I got from the intrarweb, the 60GB was a much more desired version than the 80GB due to the EE chip.

I figure worse things worse, if I hate the system I'd have a better chance of breaking even on the 60GB than the 80GB one due to demand if I tried selling it.

Same reason I'm pretty much only going for the 60g version; getting mine as an upconverting 1080p dvd player/ps2 machine.

Just wondering if anyone has gotten the $150 credit yet. I know it said 8-12 weeks, but I also know that other people have also gotten other things with sony in prior deals in like 3 weeks.

Also what is the deal with the points. I went to their websit and it's all freaking confusing heh.

hey I also noticed they extended it to SEP. 30. What is the deadline for purchases after qualifying?
