So I"ve already gotten a sony style card back last year when they offered a 100 credit and 0 % for a year. Can I still do this?

Edit: Nevermind, new customer only. Wonder if my wife can sign up

It's a card credit from Sony though, not someone like TigerDirect, so you'll actually get this rebate.

If you're in the US and have a HDTV, blu-ray + Netflix is quite nice. FYI, Spider-Man 3 on blu-ray has just been announced for 10/10 and there will be a trilogy box set.

If you don't care about blu-ray then a 360 still makes more sense for pure gaming, though you should wait for the 65nm redesign that will hopefully be more reliable.

being from Sony is something that worries even more that I won't get this "credit" ...

I did this last year for a $100 credit and it appeared just fine. don't even worry about it..

so is anyone actually going through with this.. I've got all the info filled out just debating on whether I should or not.

Yep, I just pulled the trigger.

The PS3 will end up being $400 shipped to CA.

... and I get the benefit of another 12-month 0% APR card. Woot!

lol

I was in the same boat. I have a ton of expenses coming up this month and resisted until I saw the 0% for 12 months (includes balance transfers if you are into that). Plus, I doubt we will see the top of the line PS3 @ $400 very often.

Great deal. Thanks op!

Umm on a completely unrelated note ... I can't create new topics. I don't see the "new topic" button anywhere on these forums.

Anyone else seeing this?

EDIT:

NM it just looks like it moved spots

You don't have to buy from SonyStyle do you? Cause tax and shipping would suck.

Can I just sign up for the card and then buy it from Amazon? I can use this offer for anything above $299 and not just PS3 right?

Nevermind... It looks like you HAVE to buy something at Sonystyle.

Ah where did you see that though? Is it in the fine print (i didn't look too hard)?

EDIT:

nm I see it ...

Sony Card is issued by Chase Bank USA, NA, and is subject to credit approval. Card credit will be applied to your Sony Card account 8-12 weeks after your first purchase of $299 or more ("Qualifying Purchase") at SonyStyle.com or Sony Style Stores. Offer expires August 31, 2007. First purchase must be made by November 30, 2007. In some instances an application may require additional processing, in which case Instant Credit will be unavailable. When you are approved for the Sony Card, you will receive your account and CVV2 number on-screen. Please make sure to make note of your account and CVV2 number as this information will not be available until you receive your card in the mail. If you are approved, you will be able to make a one-time purchase at SonyStyle.com only, with up to a maximum line of credit of $5,000. Additional purchases with this account cannot be made until your card is received in the mail. This promotional offer is available for new Sony Card account holders only; existing Sony Card account holders or accounts are not eligible. The Qualifying Purchase must post to your account between August 1, 2007 and November 30, 2007.

But I wonder what they meant then by doing it at amazon.com...

I think they mean that you can either use this deal and get it for ~400 at Sonystyle, OR, you can go to Amazon and pay $505 :D

I'm so torn right now. I've got all of my wife's information filled in ready to apply for the card. I just don't know if I want to go through with it though.

I don't thnk so because when this was originally posted the PS3 was $600.

But yah they may be talkin about that. That's what I thought at first until I realized initially this post was made when it was $600.

So I called a local Sony Store today and they had PS3's in stock so I went there.

Got there at like 8:45pm and they told me that store doesn't have the kiosk setup in store for me to register for the sony visa online :(.

So he then told me that most stores don't have it setup but he called the other one close by and they DO have the kiosk in store.

But unfortunately I wouldn't have made it there in time.

So hopefully tomorrow I can pick one up from that store :)

I've done a deal similar to do before but it didn't require a purchase of $300. I just went to Walgreens, spent a $1 and got credited for $150 fairly soon aftewards. No where near the 6-8 weeks period.

Ah I'm jealous. I want to do it but I seriously don't know if it's worth it. I don't even know what games I would play on it. I wonder if there is a Sony store in Northern VA in the Chantilly/Reston area..
