It's on Ben's bargains too now. Don't forget to print out the rebate before they screw with it.

Ok jackals, settle down. I didn't really cal them, nor did the two other people here who were yanking your chains. Just fun to see everyone get into a twist.

I know that you think you are pulling the biggest heist since the Great Train Robbery, but here is the sad truth: Dell uses a sales tracking system that gives them minute-by-minute updates on product sales. Their line managers review these reports several times an hour. If 20 more people buy a particular hard drive today than bought one yesterday, they know about it, and look at it. Spikes on products are scrutinized (not for fraud, but as part of the marketing strategy). Minutes after this deal hit Anandtech, a manager at Dell was watching the sales spike.

I know in bizarro world, robots run everything, and as long as you order only one and don't call the company, you'll fly under the radar. That hasn't been true of most e-tailers for years, and it's never been true of Dell. So take a breath, relax, and wait with the rest of us to see if your order goes through. If it doesn't, it won't be because someone called, or because someone ordered too many, or because of the alignment of the planets.

Just relax.

And in the process, they get free load testing by unimportant customers!

Meanwhile, back at Dell Corporate Headquarters, Mike D. and his boyz are trying to figure out a way to use the AT/FW mob mentallity to add to their fortunes.
Not really, have you any insight into a corporation like this? The only way something like this gets up that high in the food chain is if they ship 10,000 at a $200 loss each. Only then will they give a rat's ass about it..

I don't have any insight, but I bet Monty Burns does. He is, after all, the richest man in Springfield and owner of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant.

NOTE: The st@b is because st@b is a forbiden atech word. Why's that?

St@b is not allowed because for a period the ATOTers decided that it would be cool to respond to all female related threads with "st@b her". It got old, so the Mods banned it. Basically the same reason |BTL and DH|TB are also banned.

Its on slickdeals.net now as well. I'm sure without a doubt this will be canceled. They have to be up to over 10,000 orders already.

It probably hasn't been charged yet. They probably just put an authorization or hold for the amount.

I stand corrected :)

The price on Amazon is $360 so Dell is $290 less.
I'm not sure what Dell's cost is.
What I don't understand is how Dell came up with the price on the webpage?

Its not like the hard drive where there was 2 rebates that overlapped.
Its not like the $139 computer where you were able to "Strip Down" the package more than Dell had planned.
Its not like the decimal point is in the wrong spot.

Its like they had the sales prices randomly generated .

Test out the stability of a new server with a huge price cut that they will mark off as an error?

About 2 minutes ago I stuck one in my cart, signed in and then the item was no longer available.

In other words, "It's dead, Jim!"

To confirm that, it's been on FW for 2 hrs and has gotten around 5000 cumilative views. It's been on AT for 4 hrs, estimating to around 10,000+ views. And by balancing the people who viewed but didn't order with ebay pigs who order multiple, I'd say you're about right. And that's only between these two sites.

I give their servers an A+ for TwiceOver's problem and my 3 acknowledgements to one order.
