I have two questions:

1.) how, exactly, do i order it from Small Business if i don't have a small business?? do i just make up a fake business name of some sort?

2.) where are you guys finding this 15% off?? i can't find where it says "save 15% instantly"... i added it to my cart to see what the charges would be, but the 15% doesn't show up

3.) if i can't order from small business, is there still a way to get the 15% off?

thanks

P.S. yeah, i'm new ;)

I needed a bigger back up drive anyway.

Thanks for the hot deal.

Ok, this is the biggest waist you can make of this Hard Drive. You don't need a 8MB buffer for backup! Use this for your main HD!!!

Thanks for a great deal, Unsickle! Fortunately I got in early enough to get a 10/16 est. ship date :)

LOL. I already use 2 80gig drives in a raid array so this drive will be my backup. :)

Check this benchmark for a comparison as to what a raid array does for you. Tom's handy benchmarks.

This is great!.. I snagged 2 to RAID.. both to be shipped on oct 16. I dont believe you need to have real business to order. Fortunately, I do have to registered business names that I could use.

Got 2, but under each of my two company names--don't want to chance screwing up the second $100 rebate.

Did you guys get email confirmations right away? I ordered one about an hour ago and when I look in my order status page it's not there. Also, I haven't received any emails yet.

WOW, this couldn't have come at a better time. I was fixing to pay full price for this exact same drive. My 80GB Special Edition filled up a LOT faster than I thought it would. Guess that's what divx movies will do to ya :D

$168.80 Shipped

-$100 Rebate

= $68.80 Total

HELLUVA DEAL!!!

I just placed my order not even 5 minutes ago and it worked fine.

Make sure you're in the Small Business section and not the Consumer section of their site.

"Buy now and as a valued Dell Small Business customer, save 15% on your software and peripherals purchase." - Dell site

I ordered an OEM drive and I figure one of four things will happen:
1) I call up dell and get them to refund my $100
2) I call up dell and they make it possible to get the $100 rebate
3) I dispute the credit card charge in the amount of $100 with pictures of them advertising a rebate
or, 4) I return the drive to tell and they have it picked up with no shipping costs to me

either way, at most I'll be out a little bit of time on the phone

How weird... I just went to Compusa and picked up 2 80GB SEs each for $119 + Tax -$40 rebate.
I already installed one but the other is unopened. I'm returning it tomorrow (today).:)
I sure hope that rebate is good. I love/hate these internet purchases.
What the hell am I gonna do with 120Gigs. The only way I came close to filling my 20G WD was to use 10 for XP Pro and 10 for linux.

Does this seem to you like tech market meltdown?
