*DEAD* Western Digital 120GB SE 8MB Cache $58 - Being Honored!

Has anyone seen the rebate form or talked to a Dell CSR that's seen the form?

I'm 99% sure this rebate was incorrectly attached to the 8m cache drive. It's probably only valid for the 2M cache version. If you order it you might end up with a $168 drive vs. a $68 drive.

I'd recommend you print out everything and be prepared for a fight with Dell

Well, it's not a hot deal if you can't get the rebate. So I wouldn't say "either way."

Good luck though.

Got my screen captures that say $100 rebate is available to err on the side of caution.. I don't care if DELL has to eat a $100 loss.. I WILL get $100 back one way or another 😉

I ordered the OEM version before I saw that the retail version was available for only $11 more. Then I ordered the retail version. How can I cancel the first order? Do I have to call or will that screw things up? If I end up with both, can I claim the rebate on both drives? Though I'm having both drives shipped to the same addy, if I have the rebates shipped to different addresses will that work?

Dell has 4 of these drives, click here. The one for $198.86 is retail and $100 rebate, the other 3, no.

Get the rebate here

Western Digital phone number is (800) 275-4932, there open Saturday from 8 am - 11:45 am, 1 pm - 5 pm CST , there support person told me the rebate wont be valiid if you cannot provide a boxed upc code. I suggest you call them tomorrow and find out yourself before ordering this. BB messed up on this deal big time, all those people ordering the oem drives will be surprised to find there not getting a rebate back.

edited, fixed. and good luck 🙂

i would get the boxed version for $186 - 15% auto off - $100 rebate = $69 to make sure that the rebate is valid.

Thats the price for the OEM drive which does not qualify for the rebate. The retail drive is for $198 🙂

When you get your email conformation just reply to it and say that you want to cancel that order or call 877-284-3355. Monday - Friday 7 am - 8 pm CST.

I don't know about the two rebates tho. Both reciepts will be in your name and maybe both on the same credit card. So even if you used a different address for each rebate they still might know they both were purchased by you. But maybe they wouldn't care...

Dell did a little messing up too if they attached a $100 MIR promo to an OEM drive!!

EDIT: GET THE REBATE FORM HERE

I just bought 3.

I will be able to rebate all 3 right? (Even if I can only rebate 1 that is still an excellent price)

What in the world do you need 3 of these monsters for?
😕

Picked up one, gosh the CC bill is gonna kill me next month.

If the rebate is only good for the retail drive, then why did dell posted them with the oem drive????? misleading......🙁

Just ordered one -- also received email confirmation. Which would be faster for my main drive -- ATA 133 80 gig 7200 maxtor or this WD 120 gigger?!

damn, just went into my dell order history and saw this little item, anybody remember this "HOT DEAL"

1 1 340-3277 120GB 7200 RPM ULTRA ATA HD,DIM43/82,CUS PRICE $141

back in April that was hot, now this is even hotter, but people don't forget that some of us suckers still pay sales tax.
