Inspiron 6000 - $1541

Intel® Pentium® M Processor 730 (1.60 GHz/2MB Cache/533MHz FSB)
15.4 inch UltraSharp WSXGA+ LCD
512MB DDR2 SDRAM 2 Dimms
60GB Hard Drive
8x CD/DVD burner
9-cell Lithium Ion Battery
128MB DDR ATI's MOBILITY? RADEON X300 PCI Express x16 Graphics

in line to what people have been suggesting, it is cheaper to buy the memory from newegg and install it yourself.... there is less savings in doing the DVD urself, tho...

another poster in the previous thread said upgrading to sxga isn't worth it, but it depends on what res you usually use....

Since I already bought my 9300, I will just call Dell and bitch to give me 200 off, or whatever the difference is, or I will returnit and reorder.

I dont like buying a laptop and having a coupon come out a week later thats so much cheaper.

Their retention department will usually offer 10% to keep it, something to keep in mind.

currently, the 9300m has a $350 instant discount. Does this $750 coupon work before or after this instant discount or does the instant discount disappear if you use the $750 coupon?

The latter of the two, the instant discount will disappear after applying the $750 off coupon.

Otherwise this would be REALLY REALLY HOT and I would order 20 laptops.

Instead I'll just order 1 (maybe 6 and sell the others).

you do know that it will be $1841 - $750 and not $1541 - $750 right?

is there a limit of one per order or could I order 5 and use the coupon for each? or order 5 times with the same coupon and same account?

I think it is per lappie, but Dell doesn't care what I think
😀

The coupon is available now, so write it down... I'd get up early and stick the computer you want in your cart, so you're ready to go right at 8:00 central time!

Two questions about the 6000:
1) Is it worth the money to bump it from the 64mb x300 to the 128mb?
2) Why does Dell only list burn times for +R/RW, does the DVD burner definitely burn -R/RW?
