you guys whining about tax...I bought something down in Iowa a week ago and I was charged 12% sales tax... WOW :Q :Q :Q

Buffalo toys, i use a screen capture program as a workaroud for printing priblems like the one you're having. wizcapturepro works well, available from cnet (shareware).

<< I bought something down in Iowa a week ago and I was charged 12% sales tax... >>

Where the hell in Iowa were you? I'm from Iowa and the most sales tax I've seen is 6-7% and that's in Des Moines.

My first impulse buy from HD. Yay! 😀

I think it's worth it though. I'm sick of my inkjet. (a Lexmark too)

well, I like it.
Only thing is, it was shipped in the retail box only. Which means no packing slip.
What do I send for the fricken rebate?!?!?!

<< I got mine in the retail box, too, but there was a pink packing slip/receipt on it. >>

Mine just came today (2 days early) and there was a normal packaging slip taped to the retail box that it shipped in.

UPS did a nice job on the box, but the printer seemed to be just fine. Printed a couple pages out and I can't believe the speed! Going from about 1 ppm with my Canon BJC-240 to this (12ppm) is just amazing! I find myself printing out all these reviews now right before I run to the can so I can read while I do my buisness....I like it! 😀😛

Setup wasn't a problem. I've never put a toner cartridge in a laser printer before so I was kinda nervous. I just followed the instructions and it popped right in. Couldn't have been easier.
Not sure if there's WinXP drivers on the cd though, so I downloaded them from Lexmark site. It was a small download (just over 800kb IIRC) and they worked perfectly.

Oh, and mine has 4MB of memory, contrary to what Staples website says.

An update -

My officemax order still says "CBO" and this time, when you click on the printer itself, it says something like "if your order says CBO, the product will not be shipped." (but it neglects to mention that you'll never know until the very last step of the checkout process)

Anyway, I was in my leasing office this morning picking up a package - and sure enough, my E210 was sitting there. ?? So even though my online status says "items waiting to be shipped" and the printer is listed as being backordered.. it apparently had already arrived.

Bizarre. Two thumbs down for keeping customers informed of their order status, but two thumbs up for service! Looks like a cool printer!

My printer came two days ago, though order status at OfficeMax still says "CBO".
BTW, I am successfully using drivers for Samsung ML-1210 instead of Lexmark's ones.
The advantage of drivers from Samsung is that they have "Toner saving" button which
significantly prolongs cartridge life (printout becomes somewhat grayish, but it's OK for
most of the jobs I print).

You guys make me ill with all your hot deals.

I resisted and resisted this printer, and then when people started talking about getting backordered, I crumbled like a cheap cookie and bought one. I am so annoyed at myself and all of the AT hot deals people. I am now the proud owner of extra scanners, web cams, PC memory, cell phones, routers, hard drives, digital cameras, CDRWs, and at least 1 million paperclips and rubberbands. SICK . . .

<< "1 million paperclips" ... hahaha ... I hear ya !!! that was funny !! LOL >>

I'm almost serious! In fact, you know how people take office supplies from work. Well, I've taken to bringing my paper clips and rubber bands INTO work--totally serious. My wife is sick of having those things pile up so rather than throwing that stuff out, I bring it into work. Go figure . . .

There was a deal on Anandtech a couple of years ago where some place was selling boxes of paper clips at 1 cent each with free 2nd day shipping.

I ordered 1000 boxes. They sat here for like 2 years, big cases taking up space in my work area. Finally I just donated them to the local Veterans Thrift Store (Amvets). They made a few hundred bucks on them.

update: staples and officemax still have it out of stock on their website!:|
but i thought i jus saw it @ staples... B&M, so if anyone wants to get it B&M... w/ wutver coupon u can find...
u might want to try officemax b&m too, and try printing out the om $30 off $150 it just might work...

The details page at OfficeMax confirms a few of the issues people have raised:

First - this does come with a starter cartridge - not the full toner cartridge. The full cartridge is a whopping $89.99 at OfficeMax, so let's hope AT posts a deal for that pretty soon.

Second - it supports both USB and Parallel, but it doesn't come with either cable. If you have an existing printer, odds are you can use your parallel cable from there, but otherwise you will be looking at a few more bucks to add a USB cable.

In any case, it is still a damn cheap printer... Great Deal.

Just refill the cartridge. Refills work pretty wel.

Also, E-bay has TONS of cheap USB cables. I bought a 10 ft. USB gold edged cable for 5.95 shipped using Buy It Now. I'm sure they can be cheaper somewhere else, but it was good enough for me.
