I think 24db is a little to loud. panaflo 80mm L1A are rated at 24db and a panaflo running at 12v is way to loud for me.

who runs their fan @ 12v if they want quiet? Run it @ 7v or 5v if you want quiet.

Sleeve bearings mean these are worthless junk

I've never seen anyone so bitter... =)

Be happy, when life hands you a lemon, then make a lemonade...!

I even wanted to buy when the price on 10 was $23. Lol. This is a steal. Thank god that I did not buy it a few days back.

Looks like they're OOS. 🙁

I don't know the big deal with sleeve vs ball. I've never had a sleeved fan fail. Usually when they start to show signs of wear they get louder and louder. But after adding a couple drops of oil, they quiet right back down. I have a 6 year old PC (linux machine now) that still has its original sleeve bearing fans and they're still humming along quite nicely.

Got my fans today,
They are actually quite nice.
They have the 3 and 4 pin headers, the wire is sleeved for the full length, and they come with screws.

Trivial details, maybe, but most "bargain" fans have one connector and not the other , no sleeve, and no screws.

All in all, I'm very happy with what i got for the 10 bucks i spent.

Thanks to the OP and Newegg. 🙂

7v moves a decent amount of air.

5v spins quietly but doesn't do much (so use a bunch).

12v is too loud for the quieter machines here, but wouldn't be noticed in some rigs.

RPM indicator works ok at 12v (2800 rpm) but you lose it when you undervolt to 5v or 7v.
Pins are easy to swap around in the 4 pin plug (especially easy to pull with an extraction tool).

Ball bearings are noisy as hell... I'd take a sleeve bearing anyday.

rifle>sleeve>ball

rifle is quieter than a sleeve AND last longer, what more can you ask for. do a search on newegg for rifle bearing, see how much more CFM it can push with much quieter decibals

Nice deal for fans that are fairly quiet for $.99ea.

I bought 3 of these a few weeks back and they are not fairly quiet in IMO, but they do move a fair amount of air, and for 99 cents, that's a good deal if you don't mind the noise.

Just picked up 10 for 9.90! I needed 2 replacements for an older systems that has LOUD 4000rpm fans.
These will work nicely. That will leave 8 for spares? Hmmm.

Well they sure were cheap though. I couldn't have bought 2 shipped for any cheaper. I have had good luck with speeze CPU heatsinks and fans. They are always nice quality. They seem to put sleeved wires on everything they make. Lets hope the case fans are as nice.

I just ordered 10 of them. These will work nice with my seconday system and for future computers that I will build for friends and family.

I just did the search on newegg and only saw Coolermaster fans, which are low-quality junk. Don't fall for the old "we pulled specs out of our arse" trick, a manufacturer can rate noise/airflow in a number of ways based on testing methodology, knowing full well their numbers aren't industry standard. Coolermaster does same thing with heatsink CPU ratings as do many lower-end parts vendors. The industry generally regards the two best fans (noise/airflow ratio) to be Papst and Panaflo. Papst wins but generally carries a price premium. Low-end fans are fine value @ $1 each but not for $3 or more each.

not the best fans....ball bearing or double ball bearing are much better and worth the $, this is a waste

ball bearings or double ball bearing are not worth the premium when used as case fans. I'll take 10 sleeve case fans over 1 ball bearing fan anyday.

btw, i received my 10 retail Speeze fans today. Haven't installed any yet but seems like decent quality. Wire is sleeved and it comes with screws and 3 and 4 pin connectors. At 99 cents each shipped it's a no brainer to use and keep as spares. I'm going to order another 10.
