I think 24db is a little to loud. panaflo 80mm L1A are rated at 24db and a panaflo running at 12v is way to loud for me.

Ball bearings are noisy as hell... I'd take a sleeve bearing anyday.

Nice deal for fans that are fairly quiet for $.99ea.
I bought 3 of these a few weeks back and they are not fairly quiet in IMO, but they do move a fair amount of air, and for 99 cents, that's a good deal if you don't mind the noise.
I just did the search on newegg and only saw Coolermaster fans, which are low-quality junk. Don't fall for the old "we pulled specs out of our arse" trick, a manufacturer can rate noise/airflow in a number of ways based on testing methodology, knowing full well their numbers aren't industry standard. Coolermaster does same thing with heatsink CPU ratings as do many lower-end parts vendors. The industry generally regards the two best fans (noise/airflow ratio) to be Papst and Panaflo. Papst wins but generally carries a price premium. Low-end fans are fine value @ $1 each but not for $3 or more each.Originally posted by: jjyiz28

rifle>sleeve>ball
rifle is quieter than a sleeve AND last longer, what more can you ask for. do a search on newegg for rifle bearing, see how much more CFM it can push with much quieter decibals
