So true...they don't have to have auto save ALL the time, but particularly for things like this when you have no idea you're about to fight a boss they really should save it then for you.

I finally finished the demo. The first time I failed and didnt get the last piece of the motorcycle. I got it all the second time, but i wouldnt have been able to had i not already known where to go and what to do. It seems almost impossible to beat it on the first try in the small amount of time they give you without cheating. I dont like that and i hope the real game gets rid of the time limit.

The save system i could get used to even if i dont like it. The timer I will never like and if its in the main game i dont think ill get this one. It just takes the fun of roaming around and playing with weapons out of the game.

If the full game is anything like the first game, there will be an overall "you have 3 days to get to da choppa!" and the rest can be ignored. I think that ended up working very well because you had a time limit to finish a mission the game continued if you failed (with exception to the service tunnel mission). You had a very long time to just sit around and play and still complete the missions. Even doing the "perfect" ending you still had plenty of down time to mess around and kill some psychopaths.

Just the feeling of being timed sucks all the enjoyment out of the game for me.

Some enjoy it and get a feeling of thrill or tension, but it just ruins the game completely for me.

I haven't played the XBL game, but I agree that a sense of being rushed through the game isn't a very fun one. I didn't mind any of the time constraints in Dead Rising and I doubt the second will be much different.

It followed the story that some events (especially rescuing survivors) made you rush to help, if you chose to; and that added to the game I thought. These are just my opinions and speculations.

I completely agree. It adds another annoying complexity when you're trying to accomplish something in a certain time.

I hate time limits in general in games.

Anyone planning to get any of the preorder bonus outfits? They give status buffs in addition to appearance. Gamestop has Ninja, and Best Buy has "Sports Fan". I think they'll probably be pay DLC eventually.

A lot of complaints here are related to the timer and the lack of auto-save. Auto-save is less helpful due to the timer, since it's possible to auto-save into a D ending due to insufficient time. Also, a save immediately before the boss can force the player to backtrack halfway across the map for the correct weapon, again on the clock. If the choice were between 3 manual slots and 2 manual, 1 auto, I'd take the 3 manual.

Like how is a person supposed to experiment with all of the "wrench items" and try making new combo weapons while the clock is constantly ticking
Do it "off the clock" by saving, experimenting, and loading the save. Alternately, use multiple playthroughs to keep PP and combo cards. I've read rumors (not sure how credible) that there will be a no-clock "free play" mode.

Most of the main case files in DR had boss fights, plus the (skippable) psychopaths in various locations (Otis warns you, but they activate as soon as you enter the section of the mall). It's good practice to save whenever returning to the safe room. CZ lulls the player into complacency.

I agree. I burned a few hours of in-game time on the first boss in my first playthrough, but was still able to get several survivors and the A ending. I did reload a few of the cases, but mostly for deaths, not overall time.

I was thinking about getting it at GameStop for the ninja outfit... mostly because I like ninjas .
