Dead Pixel Program?

I just received a brand new "NU" 17" LCD for my birthday and I was ecstatic until I turned it on for the very first time. There is one dead pixel in pretty much the dead center of my monitor. I've tried playing games with it hoping that I would eventually not notice it but being the fact that it's right in the middle, as much as I try to ignore it, it still sticks out like a sore thumb.

Now I've read a while ago about some kind of program that immitates a 1x1 pixel of the adjacent one that you can literally "click and drag" over the dead pixel. Does anyone know if that even exists?

If not, what are my other options? No return because Newegg doesn't replace it unless it has 8 or more. :( I don't want to have to live with this thing...

Edit: Typo.

I've heard of people massaging out a dead pixel with a q-tip. I have never tried it though so be careful.

Point is that Spending 500 buck on a LCD to have a dead pixel is just an example why i still and will probably always love CRT monitor.

There is absolutly no compagny who care for their customer with those LCD monitor and you have to wait till you get 8 pixel...4 in center 3 in the left-left right bla bla bla.You spend 500 buck on a LCD because its HOT and you realise you have a defective product. And you can only return it only when your going to have mroe than xxx pixels.Warranty of those LCD compagny is CRAP.

And the beauty in that....is that customer STILL play 500 buck to get the latest LCD.I am just sooooo happy to have purchase a $100 dollars CRT.....instead of trying to look COOl with my dead pixel LCD monitor :)

2XTREME21 YELL AND SHOW YOUR RIGHT for god sake.Dont get yourself get slammed again by those crappy compagnies. And as for an exchange.Immediatly or go see customer protection.

Thanks guys.

About the whole RMA thing, I sent a pretty good email (I think) to the manufacturer and am awaiting a return. I believe the person who got me the gift bought it off of Newegg... and their return policy blows when it comes to LCDs. It's basically "8 or more pixels or nothing," so in that regard, I'm facked. If "NU" tells me no, I will bring up the whole "I spend $400 and got crap blah blah" on them.

Bah... I'm thinking of breaking 7 more pixels then returning it to Newegg. Anyone got any ideas? :)

ifesfor, before you start bashing lcd manufacturers, Lite On, Phillips and Hitachi all have a zero-taolerance for dead pixels, they will replace a monitor if even one is dead.

HEHE

I would recommand using a shotgun, but it might do mroe than 8 pixels holes in your screen :p

I dunno man YELL like you never yelled before. And threath them for lawsuit etc.Sometime it work :).

But what i am very surprise tho is that they dont replace immediatly a dead pixel IN CENTER.Lots of compagny replace immediatly a LCD with dead pixels in center.Newegg must suck then.Jesus image you got a brand new car, and you got a tiny crack in the middle of your windshield. You dont have to wait till your windshield is all crack up to get it replace. When its new, its replace immediatly.

SUCK ..LCD ...SUCK.

Poor you man, i feel your pain, and wish you good luck for a replacement.
