While this sounds like a good geal to get NSW Pro 2003, I was able to get an even better deal - I got mine for free from Staples after instant ($20), mail-in ($40) and upgrade ($30) rebates (well, I did pay about 2 bucks in sales tax).
Many stores offer it for free every now and then, and it may be a good idea to check them occasionly to see if they have any such current deals.
Which begs an interesting question: If you install Windows and then NAV with the date set forward 1 year and then correct the date, do you get 2 years of liveupdates? To the guy who was saying it claimed he had 4 months left:
Did you actually reformat your windows partition? Or just reinstall windows? I had a similar problem when I was setting up a computer for my grandma. I accidently set the computer date to a year in the past, so when I changed it to the correct date, it said it was expired. A reinstall of windows didn't fix it. So what I did was a complete reformat and them reinstall, and then it had the proper 12 months of NAV updates. I'm guessing it puts the expiration data into the registry somewhere. Since there are no product keys, there's really no way for symantec to track you, other than relying on the program to track itself in windows registry or somewhere on the hard drive.

It says it requires windows XP home/pro?
This will still work with windows ME, right?
If someone can confirm this (i doubt it's an XP-only program, so i'm probably being excessivley paranoid here) then i'm on this...might actually start buying legit software if i keep seeing deals like this 🙂

How have peoples experiences been with us depot? Norton has worked and installed a lot better for me than Mcafee.

I never received mine, post office online says they tried to deliver it once and couldnt, would retry, post office clerk says they dont have it, must have been shipped back to US-depot (after one attempt?) and US depot hasn't responded to my emails for a couple of weeks, despite one "what's up?" reminder email in between. I'm not sure what's happening, but i want either a refund or a reship, but they're *not* the best in terms of customer support, at least via email.

Yes, they do ship priority with delivery confirmation! I had checked that out with the USPS after ordering, as usual, got the delivery notification the day after I received my disc! (Our tax dollars at work again...)
