Cool thanks. Looking forward to getting a freebie of "Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate (32-bit and 64-bit DVD)" :)

Thanks OP! As usual buying multiple copies of Windows gets expensive and this will allow another XP computer to be upgraded to the wonderful Vista!

Sweet! I'm in. By the time I get the software, I may actually be comfortable installing Vista!

Thanks OP. Reminds me of a similar program they had a while back with free copies of Vista Buisness and Office 2007 Pro (which I luckily managed to register for just in time to get myself a copy of Vista Business and my dad Office 2007). Won't mind getting myself another copy of Vista.

In for a copy of Vista Ultimate, thanks OP. I don't use my laptop much anyway and I keep my nefarious deeds to my desktop. I thought the virtual machine was a really good idea but I figure I'll throw em a bone and let em monitor a little, it's the least I can do for a free copy of Ultimate.

The agreement seems to hint at them looking for pirated copies of stuff. Curious if this is a way for them to understand what and how stuff is being pirated more than "user experience."

Not sure of the processes by name, but I'm running MS Live OneCare 1.5 on the rig I loaded it on and that reported that it let two programs pass through the firewall, both of which look to be the Microsoft survey software.
Thats my bench rig which gets used for troubleshooting, so there's very little but my standard stuff on there. I figure this is probably going to dig around more than the Valve hardware study, but again, nothing to hide on my end, so let them sniff around the yard .. just don't pee on my fire hydrant !!

How long does it take to get a response email back from them after signing up? I signed up about 2 hours ago and still don't have a reply in my inbox.

I'll throw it on the wifes computer and let it run. Now just to decide to get vista or office. I don't really use office, openoffice more than suffices, I already have vista ultimate from the club live deal, hmmm

In for Office Ultimate, I already have a couple copies of Vista Ultimate and having an upgrade from Office 2007 for Students & Teachers will be nice.

Thanks OP - Free Vista Ultimate just for letting MS see how many of their Vista Home features I've disabled -- fair trade.
