I already tried that but all the cards have a huge lead time. Anyways, I canceled and went with the BFG at Best Buy :)

Got an email saying that my card (XFX) had been delayed and it had a link to the status page, but the status page still says it will ship today (12/11) and will arrive between 14-18.


Who knows.

This is pretty shitty. They charge your credit card before they ship, keep bullshitting the date of shipment and never have a solid answer. Why the hell can't they offer us one of the other 8800gt's with similar specs for the same price?

They're waiting for all the pre-charged money to mature in a hedge stock, then when Dell's made a huge killing and made their stock broker super rich on just the video card money, they'll spend the leftovers on buying actual cards.

As pissed as I am from getting the run-around from Dell's horrible CSR reps, I'm going to keep my order and see how this all plays out.
If I *do* decide to contact Dell again because of further delays, I will never bother with online chat again. It's obvious that not only are they not helpful but there is ZERO consistency. One person gets a credit, another person gets expedited shipping, and a 3rd person is told that it's not possible for them to make any changes to the shipping method? WTF?

Just got my delay email.

Ordered the 27th, original estimated ship was today the 12th. Email indicates the next estimated ship is the 19th, 7 days from now.

Getting the same run around as you all--told yesterday by a CSA that it would ship today, told today that it wouldn't ship for 1-2 weeks, asked to speak to a manager then was told it has been discontinued and may not ship at all. Then told that I would receive a call later on today after they had figured out more information. I'm not sure this can get much more ridiculous...

dickheads...had to go through 2 people that told me the order was supposed to ship today, until i mentioned the delay email. finally got a supervisor who I got to offer me a coupon, but only $25 or $35(couldn't hear clearly, could have sworn he kept going back and forth). I told him it wasn't worth it, and he asked how much I wanted. I said closer to $50, he went back to check, said he can't, canceled the order.

Bumped to 1/16/07. I'll keep it open to see if I can find a better deal before then (on either ATI 3870 or the 8800GT from somewhere else). I won't be getting my processor until Feb. 08 anyway.

well bestbuy is holding one of those BFG cards for $237 or w/e the price is since it is sold out online. now I just gotta hope there are no problems when I go pick it up. Hopefully I can use a 10% off coupon too

Those of us who went with the Radeon cards are in the same boat. Orders pushed back at least a week. Last time I order something from Dell. By the time it arrives I can get it from every other company and possibly cheaper.

OK.. so mine was delayed until 1/24. After talking to everyone I could at Dell, I found a guy from Dell Home that sold me the 320MB 8800GTS for 309.99 and gave me a case number. He told me to call customer service when i get the card to get a $89 credit to my credit card.

sounds shadey.. but I will get an 8800 on saturday so that works for me.

You are getting the old G80 card. The 320MB/640MB 8800GTS cards are actually from the last refresh because the NEW G92 8800GTS is a 512MB card.
