They told me it automatically changed to 12/17, but it will really be pushed back to January. I cancelled.......

I did the online chat tonight and was given a est. ship date of 1/08/2008...I promptly canceled.

12/10/2007 05:06:34PM Agent (Vishal): "The estimated shipping date for this order is 01/08/2008, as there is a lead time of 1-2 Weeks."

Dammit. I guess I'll check back with them again in a few days and see if the ship date gets pushed back any more. Hopefully they're shipping them in batches and not all at once. I can wait for a while- I got in on that Newegg GF6200/Foxconn mobo deal, so at least I won't be without a video card at all until I get this one. I'm just going to be pissed not playing PC games over the holiday break!

For what its worth, I ordered around 1AM on the 25th, had a estimated ship date of the 10th...... it is now the 19th. Seems like most have been delayed (via email) from the 10th to the 17th.

I think the CSRs are screwing with us. I think we all would after dealing with the same question all day long.

Pretty good chance they were yanking your chain. last week the CSR told me not to worry that mine would ship on time because Dell would never sell something that they could not deliver. This was after the support guy told me that MSI had discontinued that card. Then y\this week delay E-Mail.

Provantage, a very reputable online etailer, is still showing a stock in ETA of 12/14 for this card. So that gives me a glimmer of hope that my Dell 12/17 ship date may happen. You would think as big as Dell is that they would have more business clout than Provantage or Newegg who already has this card in stock, if you want to pay $299.32. shipped.

For those that can't wait or canceled I found the PNY GEFORCE XLR8 8800GT PCIE 512MB VCG88512GXPB at Onsale in stock (call to confirm) for $232.99 + free shipping AR.

OK. Mine still says 12/11 ship date. I called dell and they said it has been shipped via DHL ?!!!! She got me even a tracing number, but it is not found on DHL site.
WTF is going on here???

Conspiracy probably not but I've already been lied to directly by a CSR that told me there was no problem and my order would be shipped on time. So you figure if they will lie

You would think Dell would have a MRP system to accomodate this instead of this, scary.

Then, the message boards wasting bits on worthless/inaccurate information (I.E. mine is going to ship on 12/10). For the most part this system works, but not when you sell 1 million cards, and there are only 5K to distribute over the next few months. The system will just keep sending e-mails like always, and the CSRs can't help because they are in another country and cannot look at the distributors system.

They could learn something from NewEgg.

I think it's better to NOT contact them before the ship date. If you do, they will push the ship date to few more weeks. Mine says 12/13/07, and I'm going to wait for the email...or an EVGA card... haha

I just bought the BFG one at Best Buy as well. I'm going to keep my order will Dell though. I just noticed that Newegg has update the status on their MSI card to say ETA 12/17 as well.
