same as I'm sure everyone else that ordered will get today. :(

What peeves me the most is Dell had to know that there was no way they were going to get that many on time but took the orders anyway to sway buyers from looking eleswhere.

Chaulk up one more, ordered 11/25, ship date moved from 12/10 to 12/17. This time I did call Dell and got free next day shipping. Maybe.

LMAO if I go directly to my order number on Dell's site it still has today as Ship Date. Tried to do chat with customer service

Well this sux I ordered the 24th got the 17th email. I was planning to build my new q6600 machine friday. I actually got my girlfriend interested in learning a bit about the building process. Hmmm, to cancel or wait a pray I don't miss my 2wk break from Med school without a computer....stupid dell or msi whoever Overpromised and underdelivered

They should upgrade everyone to free next day shipping instead of rewarding only those who beyoch the loudest.

I got the email saying mine was delayed until 12/17 too. I think it's time to give Dell a call to see if I can get the shipping bumped to next day.

Also, I'm feeling better and better about breaking down and ordering a EVGA 8800GT from NewEgg. You know... the one that's actually in my computer and not just a figment of Dell's collective imagination.

yup, got the email, chatted with a wonderfully unhelpful CSR that recommended that I cancel my order since the item is discontinued by the manufacturer (wtf?) and the shipment they are supposed to receive won't cover all the orders and they won't be receiving any more. She wouldn't upgrade my shipping, not that it would do any good.

That's exactly what pisses me off, I could have ordered another one somewhere else for a little bit more but I can't afford to order 2 and have them both come in. Instead I put my faith in dell, and they strung me along letting me think that there was a chance that I might actually get this card, and now they are just like 'oh well, sorry, try again next time'.

This was to be my christmas present, I guess I'll get a nice new years present instead.

PS - I'd also still like to know what happened with the guy that supposedly got an evga card instead of the MSI card he ordered - why can't I have that kind of luck.

I also received a notification that my order was delayed until 12/17. I chatted with a Dell rep and I swear it was a canned-answer bot on the other end. He "typed" this response no less than 3 times in our conversation:

"Agent (Pradeep K N): "We certainly do not want to keep our customers waiting for their products. I assure you we are doing everything we can to get your order out to you as soon as possible."

The comedy of it all was that the rep could give me no guarantee that the order wouldn't be delayed again. When I asked if I could be compensated with expedited shipping I was told:

Agent (Pradeep K N): "I'm sorry to say that we do not have such option. Trust me sure you will receive your order safe and soon."


Safe and soon. Awesome.
The only reason I'm willing to hang on and wait is that I don't *need* the card, so we'll see how this all plays out. I sure as heck will not bother with a chat session again. I'll try a live person next time.

I ordered the msi 8800GT early on the 24th from dell. 10th of Dec was my first sending date. Just got email saying changed for the 17th. I am wondering if anybody got email confirming sent on the 10th.

I am in the same boat as you. My first date was 10th of December. My email update from Dell now says 12/17. If 12/17 comes and goes with another delay, I am going to be calling Dell on the phone with a vengeance. I can't believe an OEM as large as Dell can't get their hands on this product or at least give us an honest ship date.

I never received an email, but I just logged in and went through the whole chat process. My order info still shows the ship date as 12/13, but it's now 12/28 according to the customer service rep. I still got upgraded to next day shipping. Convo follows:

I didn't get any email? My estimated shipping date says 12/12 with an est. delivery date of 12/17-12/19. Is that what you guys got, or do you have a ship date of the 17th?
